    • A vertical injection machine for molding soles, technical articles and the like, of the type which comprises a footing (11) which supports a plurality of presses which have a vertical closing motion (12) and are provided with mold holders (13a, 13b, 13c) for supporting corresponding molds (14); the molds are fed by an injection assembly (15) arranged above the presses (12) in order to inject substantially vertically; there are means for the relative mutual motion of the vertical injection assembly (15) and of at least portions of the mold holders; the machine is provided with a control and actuation assembly (16) arranged adjacent to the presses (12). The presses (12), with the respective mold holders (13a, 13b, 13c), are arranged in a line and are mutually adjacent, so as to form a single row (17), so that they can be accessed conveniently from both sides for operations for removing the finished product, for positioning inserts, and for cleaning and maintenance.

    • An edge-gated injection molding apparatus is disclosed having an injection manifold assembly for distributing a melt stream of moldable material to a plurality of mold cavities aligned on opposing sides of the injection manifold assembly. The injection manifold assembly includes a plurality of melt outlets with each melt outlet being in fluid communication with a respective mold cavity, and a plurality of biasing components disposed along a centerline of the injection manifold assembly. A nozzle seal is disposed between each injection manifold assembly melt outlet and its corresponding mold cavity, with an upstream end of the nozzle seal being slidably disposed against its respective melt outlet. Each biasing component is disposed between a pair of melt outlets and corresponding nozzle seals for biasing the melt outlets and nozzle seals outward from the centerline of the injection manifold assembly toward their respective mold cavities and applying a preload thereto.

The mechanism includes a guide section serving as a rail horizontally extending in a predetermined direction; a first injection section having at least one injection nozzle and slidably disposed on the rail, whereby the first injection section is guidable by the rail to horizontally move along X-axis defined by the rail; and a second injection section having at least one injection nozzle and slidably disposed on the rail.
