    • A monitoring device for checking whether a part is in a predetermined position has a sensor, a drive for moving the sensor along a track, a switching element arranged at the end of the track that can be actuated by the sensor when the latter reaches the end of the track, as well as a control that carries out a routine check during the detection process. In order to improve such a monitoring device so that it can be used more flexibly, the sensor carries out a first or a second detection process along the same track in two opposite directions on the track. The drive can be controlled in such a way by the control that it allows both the first and second detection processes to be carried out. A switching element is associated to each end of the path followed by the sensor on the track in both directions, and the control carries out the routine check independently from the direction in which the sensor is moving on the track. The switching element associated to the end of the track in the direction of which the sensor has moved on the track checks whether an actuation has taken place within a given period.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to interpret the drill break by detecting whether or not there is a hole at the drilling portion based on the picture signals obtained by means of taking picture of the drilling portion after drilling by drill. CONSTITUTION:When a drill 1 is raised after drilling a hole 2, an ITV camera 8 takes a picture of the drilling area of the hole 2 lighted by a lamp L to output picture signals SI to an A/D converter 10. Then, the digital picture signals SD converted from analog signals are stored at the specified address in a picture memory 11. And since, with the drill broken, the hole 2 can not be formed because of incapability of drilling, a black part corresponding to the hole 2 is not displayed in a Braun tube. Then, if the discrete value related to the hole 2 among the binary code data by boundary value VT stored in the memory 11 is less than set point, an arithmetic and logic control section 12 interprets the drill 1 to be broken because it means that the hole is not yet drilled.

    • PURPOSE:To permit the breakage of a twist drill to be detected easily and certainly by measuring the synchronous state of the drilling signal by a controller and the detection signal of a chip detector and detecting the breakage of the twist drill from the stop of formation of chips. CONSTITUTION:The hole drilling work for a printed board by a twist drill is carried-out on the basis of the hole drilling signal 23 which has a hole drilling indication part 23a which is transmitted from a controller. When the chip formed by the hole drilling work passes through a pipe which communicates to a dust collector, a chip detection signal 24 which has a chip indication part 24a is transmitted from a chip detector. When the chip indication part 24a does not exist in the part of the chip detection signal 24 corresponding to the hole drilling indication part 23'a of the hole drilling signal 23 in the detection division 25'a of a detection division signal 25, it is confirmed that chip is not formed. In other words, the above-described case is the abnormal state where a twist drill 13 is broken, and an alarm is transmitted to inform an operator of the trouble.

    • PURPOSE:To detect the break of a drill without wrong operation, by forming a primary and secondary coils on a base plate in a state of reverse winding and detecting change of a degree of electromagnetic coupling between the two coils when the drill is inserted through the center of the two coils. CONSTITUTION:A primary coil 21 is printed to the front side of a base plate 20 made of glass epoxy resin and a secondary coil 22 is printed to the reverse side in a state of reverse winding. Each end 24, 25 of the primary and secondary coils is connected by a through hole, connected to a lead wire 28 and guided to an electric circuit part 23. Each of the other ends 26, 27 of the primary and secondary coils is connected also to the electric circuit part 23. A hole 29 for a drill to be extended through is formed in the center of the coils. A blocking circuit is constituted by the primary and secondary coils in the electric circuit part 23, and a degree of electromagnetic coupling of the two coils is compared to decide presence of the drill in the hole 29 and detect the break of the drill.
