    • PURPOSE:To shorten tool setup operating time and improve the reliability of a correction value by obtaining a first error of an assembled tool to a setting dimensional value and a second error to a required dimensional value for a work set when the work is machined, and modifying-controlling the correction value of the tool using the difference between these errors. CONSTITUTION:A measured error to a setting dimensional value I1 of a cutting part of an assembled tool and a machining error of a work to a required dimensional value H1 set when a trial machining operation is performed are obtained, and the difference between these errors is controlled as a correction value R1 of the tool. As a result, the need for trial machining operations is eliminated in order to obtain the correction value R1 for each tool, the newest value of the correction value R1 is fed back to a correction value control device and controlled in it every time the machining operation is performed, and thereby the reliability for the correction value R1 is improved. Even when the dimensions of the cutting part vary every time it is used, the correction value R1 can be constantly controlled exactly in accordance with the dimensional change, and the machining operation can thus be performed with high accuracy.

In inputting a timing signal ST, the picking up section 2 picks up the image of the color 20 and signals SR, SG, SB corresponding to the red color are outputted to binarization circuits 3-5, and binarization signals SR', SG', SB' which are binary coded are outputted to a decoder 6. Then the binarization signals SR', SG', SB' are decoded into identification symbols.
