    • The desking system comprises a top member (2) providing a horizontal work surface and which is supported on pair of support means (3) one at each end. Each support means (3) comprises a pair of spaced parallel upright members (4) connected to the top member and arranged so that the space between the upright members (4) is aligned with an access opening (6) in the top member. A cable receiving member (9) is slidably engageable between the upright members (4) and is placed in position after the desking unit has been fully assembled by insertion into the space between the upright members (4) through the access opening (6). The access opening (6) is provided with a closure member (7) which defines with the opening (6) apertures (8) through which cabling can extend from the cable receiving member onto the work surface of the top member (2). The cable receiving member (9) provides laterally open elongate channels (12) for receiving cabling, the channel being closable by panels (15).

    • A vertically adjustable desk, table or workstation has a work surface carried between a pair of leg assemblies. The leg assemblies have telescoping sleeves and a ratcheting latch mechanism operatively interconnecting the sleeves. The ratcheting latch mechanism has a toggle preferably in the inner sleeve and a ratchet opening, preferably in the outer sleeve. The opening is defined in part by an edge formed with a series of lateral inclined ratchet slots at which a latch pin on the toggle can set the vertical height. The toggle is spring biased to either of two over-center alignments. Upper and lower edges of the opening respectively toggle the latch mechanism to move the pin out of engagement with the slots at the top limit of travel, and back into engagement with the slots at the bottom limit of travel. The latch pin follows the ratchet slots in progression as the table is raised, and is switched by the top and bottom edge portions to disengage or engage the slots. Gas springs optionally may be included to produce an upward balancing force for supporting the work surface.

    • An adjustable shelf unit includes a pair of parallel, vertical stanchions each defining a vertical channel. A pair of adjustable braces each has horizontal support surfaces and a proximal end slidably retained in a respective front channel. A locking means is coupled to the proximal end of the braces for releasably securing the braces at a freely selectable elevation in the front channels. A planar element, such as a shelf, is disposed above the braces slidably coupled to the stanchions such that the horizontal surfaces of the braces support the first planar element for load bearing. The horizontal surfaces of the braces remain horizontally disposed as the braces are moved to a freely selectable elevation in the front channels.

    • A dual worksurface support is provided for electronic data processing equipment and the like, and includes two separate worksurfaces adapted to support different pieces of equipment thereon. The worksurfaces are interconnected by a linkage assembly which permits vertical adjustment of one of the worksurfaces with respect to the other, and includes left and right hand linkages located at the opposite sides of the respective worksurfaces, which rotate about at least one horizontal pivot axis. A rigid stabilizer bar has its opposite ends fixedly connected with the two linkages at locations concentric with the horizontal pivot access, such that rotation of one of the linkages is transmitted through the stabilizer bar to the other linkage to ensure that the opposite sides of the adjusted worksurface move vertically together without sagging or binding. A releasable lock may be connected with the stabilizer bar to retain the adjusted worksurface at selected heights, and telescoping pedestal may be provided with a quick disconnect actuator mount which permits replacement of the actuator without disassembly of the pedestal.
