    • A locking system comprising at least one magnet and a detector to sense a magnetic field and a processor to receive an output signal to determine one or more lock statuses based on the sensed magnetic field. The system may be used to determine one or more types of lock status based on sensed magnetic field, such statuses indicating if a key has been left in the lock for longer than a predetermined time period, if the lock is in a locked or unlocked state, whether the wing or leaf is open or closed relative to a sensor mounted on the frame and which key of a set of keys has been in the lock. The magnet may be located on the key or on a key fob or inside the lock. The system can also be put into a calibration mode to register an output value as a reference input. Preferably the magnet 335 is located in the lock mechanism and is caused to move between a first and second position when the key is inserted in the lock. A spring 339 may be used to bias the spring in the first position.

    • A restrictor 10 comprises a support member (20, fig. 4) to attach to a sash frame 11 and a track blocking member (30, fig. 4) to extend across part of a diameter of a track member 51 of a friction hinge 50. In a track blocking configuration, the track blocking member blocks the movement of a slider 54 along the track member to limit the extent of opening of the friction hinge. The restrictor is designed to be retrofitted to a window without replacing the friction hinge. There may be a magnet (31, fig. 4) to hold the track blocking member to the track member 51.The support and track blocking members may be releasably connected, e.g. via screws through holes (24, 33; fig. 4) or via a cap member (60, fig. 4) with spring clips (61, 142; fig. 7) or magnets (141, fig. 8A).The restrictor may also include a cammed lock (270, fig. 10). There may be a second portion of the track blocking member (80, fig. 13B) that extends along the track. Independent claims are included for a kit for the restrictor and for a friction hinge including the restrictor.

    • Anti-tamper cylinder lock comprising a cylinder lock housing 12 received within a bore 8 of a support (e.g. mortise lock, door).     • A handle assembly comprising a first handle grip moveable rotatably and axially relative to a handle axis, and a second handle grip movable at least rotatably relative to the handle axis, both handle grips attached to a spindle assembly which can operate a latch, the blocking assembly having a rest mode allowing both handle grips to operate the latch or a locked mode which prevents the handle grips from operating the latch, the handle assembly, wherein the handle assembly is transformed between the rest mode and the locked mode by moving the first handle grip along the handle axis and the first handle grip is secured in the locked position by a magnetic securing arrangement. The blocking assembly may comprise at least a first stop member 340 341 344 345 which preferably sit either side of a blocking slot 342 and a first blocking formation e.g. protrusions 330 331 that enter the slot when the first handle grip is pushed inwards. This prevents the handle from being rotated. The spindle may be a split spindle (fig 10) such that the movement of the first handle grip inwards disengages with the spindle associated with the second handle grip from the latch.
