    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applying method for delivering ATP therapy in a manner that increases the likelihood that ATP therapy will terminate a tachyarrhythmia without resorting to defibrillation shock. SOLUTION: Sense signals representing electrical activity in a heart chamber is generated and a chamber sense is detected when a sense signal exceeds a specified intrinsic detection threshold. A tachycardia is detected in the heart chamber when a rate at which chamber senses are detected exceeds a specified tachycardia threshold value. Upon detection of a tachycardia, a burst of one or more pacing pulses is delivered in accordance with an anti-tachycardia pacing protocol and the burst is outputted after a specified coupling interval with respect to a chamber sense. If a pacing pulse has captured the heart chamber by detecting whether an evoked response occurs during a capture detection window following the output of a pacing pulse is determined. The extent to which the heart chamber has been entrained by counting the number of successive pacing pulses achieving capture during the burst is determined. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

    • PURPOSE: To prevent a permanent deformation of electrode-conduction surface after being introduced into pectus by installing two conductive elements which are separated from each other by non-conductive regions of insulating element, and placing a hinge surrounding an electrode which deflects on a priority basis from an orientation of a flat plane in a state where the non-conductive region is substantially relaxed to the orientation of being folded. CONSTITUTION: Defibrillation/fibrillation removal electrode assembly body 10 is composed of a plane conductive-electrode part 12 and a lead wire member 14. In this case an electrode part 12 is formed by conductive elements 16 and 18 installed to repoussage-element 20 which is an electrical insulant and which is mechanically elastic as an entirety. Further, the conductive elements 16 and 18 as network structure of wires are separated from each other on the repoussage-element 20 by a non-network region 30. The electrode part 12 is deflected along a broken line 32 by the non-network region 30. In this case, the non-network region 30 acts as a spring-loaded hinge. Thus, a permanent deformation of the electrode-conductive surface after treatment of introduction into the pectus is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE: To facilitate a detachable insertion of electrode into a tissue by providing a movable hook between a position of a hook housing within a hollowed part made at the end of catheter and the other position of a hook projecting from the hollowed part, and composing of connecting the hook to the tissue by being laterally displaced when the hook is projected. CONSTITUTION: This fibrillation eliminative electrode, namely electro-catheter 10 has a straightly unfoldable end 12 by inserting an internal probe into the tissue from a basic end 14 and a helical spring 22 is housed into a dielectric tubular housing 19 in the end 12. The end 20 of the helical spring 22 has an enlarged part 24 of an enlarged diameter, the enlarged part 24 is moved to the axial direction by an axially directed thrust-increasing means. A basic end 28 of the hook of a spring hook 30 being opposite in direction is connected to a top-tip 26 of the helical spring 22, and the hook 30 is moved in the lateral direction by projecting a curved part 23 of the hook 30 from the opening part 18 when the spring 22 is advanced, and while being in this state, removing a fixing type probe to return the hook 30, the hook 30 penetrates into an organic tissue.

    • PURPOSE: To screen a patient by obtaining a reference wave form from an electrocardiograph obtained by connecting a pacing lead with detecting and pacing electrodes in a pace maker embedded into a body, storing the reference wave form in an external programmer to compare new one with the reference wave form. CONSTITUTION: A lead 14 a pacing electrode 16 and a detecting electrode 18 at the tip end is inserted from the large vein 20 to the right ventricle 24 via the right atrium 22 of a heart, and a pace maker 12 embedded in a body is connected to the other end of the lead 14. After the pacing electrode 16 and the lead 16 come into a stable condition, data interpreting a cardiograph is detected and stored in the pace maker 12 as the reference value and also transmitted to and stored in a programmer unit 10 as the reference value. Every time a new cardiograph is obtained, whether myocardial ischemia exists or not and the transition are judged noticing on changes of the cardiograph, especially on changes of the ST part. Thereby screening suitable for a patient is carried out.

    • PURPOSE: To maintain the function of a heat in a normal condition by implanting a housing accommodating therein a pulse generator having an antiarrhythmic in the pacemaking function, an electric defibrillating function and a defibrillating function, in the vicinity of the heart so that a conductive surface of the housing faces the heat. CONSTITUTION: A conductive surface 14 of a housing 10 is connected to a pulse generator 18 through the intermediary of a program switch 16. The housing 10 is implanted in the vicinity of the heart, with the conductive surface 14 facing the heart. The housing 10 has a socket assembly 20 which is connected with a lead wire from a catheter whose leading end intravenously implanted in the vicinity of the heart. An input from the catheter is checked so that the program switch 16 selects an output of the pulse generator 18 so as to apply an electric shock upon the heat from the conductive surface 14, and accordingly, an electric shock depending upon a condition of arrhythmia or pulsus frequens, thereby it is possible to normally hold the function of the heart.
