    • This invention has as its object to provide a frequency tracking method, a frequency control apparatus (tracking apparatus) using this method, and a Doppler velocity meter using the same, which easily and quickly allow the center frequency of a band pass filter to coincide with the frequency of an input signal even when an input signal suffers from a large level drift. A tracking method for a center frequency of a band-pass filter relates to a method including the deviation information detection step of detecting deviation information of the frequency of a signal to be input to the band-pass filter or a signal output from the band-pass filter with respect to the center frequency of the band-pass filter, the deviation information detection step including at least the step of detecting the deviation direction, and the changing step of changing the center frequency of the band-pass filter on the basis of a detection result in the detection step of detecting the deviation information including the deviation direction, thereby adjusting the center frequency of the band-pass filter to coincide with the frequency of a signal to be filtered through the band-pass filter.

    • A doppler velocimeter determines the velocity of an object moving through a beam intersection area by using a doppler frequency obtained by detecting light from the beam intersecting area. The doppler velocimeter includes: a light source; a diffraction grating for diffracting light received from the light source; first and second lens systems for transmitting diffracted light from the diffraction grating to irradiate a portion of a movable object to be examined, the first and second lens systems having the same focal length F; and a detector device for receiving light from the portion of the object irradiated with the light which has been transmitted through the first and second lens systems and for obtaining a doppler signal used for velocity determination. The interval between the first and second lens systems is twice as long as the focal length F. Spherical aberration caused by a portion of the first lens system through which the diffracted light travels is offset by spherical aberration caused by a portion of the second lens system through which the diffracted light travels. This simple construction achieves equidistant interference fringes over the beam intersection area.

    • Process and apparatus for electrophotography are disclosed in which a photosensitive medium basically composed of an electrically conductive layer, a photoconductive layer and an insulating layer is used. The process comprises the steps of applying onto the surface of the photosensitive medium a uniform corona discharge with a predetermined polarity, exposing it to an original light image, applying to it a secondary corona discharge with a component of the opposite polarity to that of the primary uniform corona discharge simultaneously with or immediately after the image-wise exposure, uniformly exposing it to near infrared light almost simultaneously with the secondary corona discharge and subjecting it to a whole surface exposure with white light so as to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the original light image. Apparatus for carrying out the electrophotographic process comprises the above mentioned type of photosensitive medium, means for exposing the photosensitive medium to a light image, means for forming an electrostatic latent image on it in accordance with the image-wise exposure by said exposure means, near infrared exposure means for exposing it to light of near infrared range and developing means.
