摘要： A portable circular saw includes a housing, a motor, a circular saw blade, a saw cover, and a light irradiation unit. The motor is accommodated in the housing. The circular saw blade is driven by the motor for cutting a cutting object in a cutting direction. The circular saw blade has one side surface and another side surface. The saw cover is provided to the housing for partially covering the circular saw blade. The light irradiation unit is provided on the saw cover. The light irradiation unit includes a first irradiation device located on the one side surface side of the circular saw blade and a second irradiation device located on the another side surface side of the circular saw blade for emitting a light to illuminate a region including a leading end portion of the circular saw blade and a spot on the cutting object. The spot is ahead of the leading end portion in the cutting direction.

摘要： A laser emitter projects a planer light beam to form an optical guideline on a work piece extending in a cutting direction of saw blade. The laser emitter is arranged behind, in the cutting direction, a tangential line of the circumference of the saw blade at an intersection of a bottom surface of the base and the circumference at a front side of the base in the cutting direction. The laser emitter forms the optical guideline behind the intersection in the cutting direction. The laser emitter is supported in respect of the saw blade slidingly in a direction defined by a rotation axis of the saw blade. The saw cover may have a window to transmit the laser beam toward the cutting point. A shutter selectively shutting the window may be provided.

摘要： Fanned air generated by a fan to cool a motor is discharged from a housing through fanned air discharge ports toward an opening formed in a base. The fanned air discharged toward the opening is then introduced into a groove in fluid communication with the opening. The groove is formed in a bottom surface of the base and has an open side at a front side of the base. The fanned air is then discharged from the front side of the base, blowing off saw dust on a cutting object so as to prevent dust from accumulating on a marking line on the cutting object.
