    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the communication protocol of a system where outgoing channel transmission speed is higher than the incoming channel one and also to improve communication efficiency. SOLUTION: The radio communication system is provided with a narrow band base station 3 providing a bi-directional radio channel, a wide band base station 4 providing an outgoing wide band radio channel with data transmission speed being higher than the bi-directional radio channel which is provided by the narrow band base station 3 and a radio terminal 20 executing radio communication with the base stations 3 and 4. The wide band base station 4 is provided with a timer 9 clocking a prescribed response waiting time after a packet is transmitted to the radio terminal 20 and a radio interface 8 re-transmitting the packet in any one of the cases when the timer 9 becomes time-out or when a REJECT message (NACK) from the radio terminal 20 is received. The radio terminal 20 is provided with the timer 33 clocking the prescribed response waiting time after the packet is transmitted to the narrow band base station 3 through the use of the bi-directional narrow band radio channel and a control part 34 re-transmitting the packet only when the timer 33 becomes time-out.

    • PURPOSE: To simplify a demodulator by providing a filter means extracting a signal component of a specific subcarrier and a demodulation means demodulating information to a reception system so as to reduce a sampling frequency of an A/D converter in the orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal communication equipment. CONSTITUTION: The radio communication equipment is made up of an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal modulator 20 and a demodulator 213. The modulator 20 generates an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal by arranging orthogonally plural subcarriers modulated by a transmission information series in a frequency region. The demodulator 213 is provided with a filter 222 extracting one or plural subcarriers forming an orthogonal frequency division multiplex signal and demodulates the extracted subcarrier signal. Thus, the entire receiver is made small and the power consumption is reduced.

The reception signals 13 of the antenna 10 are inputted to a transmission path impulse response estimation processing part 19, a transmission path impulse response 118 is calculated by a known code sequence on a receiver side and inputted to a distortion elimination means 112 and weighting and phase control means 115. In the means 112, the distortion component of the signals 13 is eliminated by the response 118 and code judged output 130, inputted to the means 115 as the signals 121, weighting and phase control is performed so as to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio of the reception signals and the signals 324 are inputted to an addition means 327. The series of processings are performed for the respective antennas. Then, the inputs 124-126 from the respective antennas 10-12 are simply added in the means 127, the output 128 is passed through a code judgement means 129, a code judged result 130 is outputted and an information sequence is demodulated in a signal sequence demodulation means 131.
