摘要： A system is provided for pushing content to a terminal located within a mobile network or a private network. The system includes a network node, such as a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) proxy, located across a public network from the network including the terminal. The network node is capable of subscribing to a push service on behalf of the terminal such that the network node is also capable of receiving push content in accordance with the push service. Thereafter, the network node is capable of establishing a network-initiated data session with the terminal. In response to the network-initiated data session, the network node is further capable of registering the terminal such that the terminal is capable of receiving the push content based upon the registration.

摘要： A method and system for improving the efficiency of radio communication by optimizing at the radio link protocol (RLP) layer. When TCP segments are passed down from the TCP layer at a sending device, they are accompanied by TCP segment information such as TCP segment length or TCP segment number. The RLP layer receiving the data stores the TCP-segment information along with the data, and divides the data into frames for transmission. Using the TCP information, when the RLP layer receives a NAK indicating loss of an RLP frame for which retransmission will not occur, the RLP layer drops not only that frame, but also any other buffered frames associated with the same TCP segment with which the lost frame was associated, regardless of whether the other frames have been transmitted.

摘要： A system is provided that includes a network entity, such as a packet data switching node (PDSN), and a terminal capable of establishing a data-link connection with the network entity, such as after setting up a physical-layer connection with the network entity. After the data-link connection is established, the network entity and the terminal can configure a network-layer protocol such that data formatted in accordance with the network-layer protocol can thereafter be sent between the terminal and the network entity over the data-link connection. Then, during configuration of the network-layer protocol, the terminal can discover at least one service available to the terminal by receiving, from the network entity, a listing of the at least one available service. The listing of each available service includes an address of a provider of the available service and a port number and/or pathname for accessing the service at the provider.

摘要： Apparatus, and an associated method, for facilitating communication of data in a packet radio communication system to effectuate a packet communication service in which packet data is communicated at a variable, selectable rate. A detector embodied at an RLP layer detects channel allocations and channel reaollcations, granted to the mobile station to effectuate the data communication service. A report is generated at the RLP layer and forwarded to the TCP layer. At the TCP layer, selection is made of the TCP window to match the rate at which data is provided to the RLP layer to the rate, based upon the channel allocations provided to the mobile station, at which the data is communicated therefrom.

摘要： A method is disclosed to operate a wireless network (20) with a MS (100) and includes, in response to detecting that the MS has changed its location in the wireless network, registering the MS with a BS (45) to indicate the current location of the MS and, in response to the MS registering with the BS, triggering the sending of messages in the wireless network until information that is indicative of the current location of the MS is recorded by an AAA server (80). The AAA server can be subsequently queried top obtain the current location of the MS, such as when a network initiated data session (NIDS) for the MS is initiated. Also disclosed is a method to page a MS by, in response to the initiation of a NIDS for the MS, querying a home AAA server for a current BS/PCF/PDSN affiliation of the MS and sending a page message to the MS in accordance with the current BS/PCF/PDSN affiliation of the MS.

The resource module is connected to a data bus, but only the active resource module has control of the data bus. Two call processor systems are connected to the resource modules, and the active call processor is connected to the active resource module. A call processor connection client operating on the resource module transmits a connection request message to the call processor systems. A call processor connection server operating on the call processor system can receive the connection request message and assign the resource module active status.
