    • A method for the production of transgenic plants is provided in which a vector carrying a gene encoding the green fluorescent protein is introduced into cells, the cells are screened for the protein and transformed cells are selected and regenerated. The cellular toxicity of the green fluorescent protein is circumvented by regulating expression of the gene encoding the protein or directing the protein to a subcellular compartment where it is not toxic to the cell. DNA constructs are provided for cell transformation in which the expression of a gene encoding the green fluorescent protein is placed under the control of an inducible promoter. In addition, DNA constructs are provided in which a nucleotide sequence encoding the green fluorescent protein is operably linked to a signal sequence which directs the expressed protein to a subcellular compartment where the protein is not toxic to the cell. Oxidative stress to plant cells transformed with GFP also can be ameliorated by transforming cells with an expression vector comprising genes encoding GFP and an oxygen scavenger enzyme such as superoxide dismutase. The toxicity of GFP in transformed plants can be eliminated by excising the screenable marker gene following detection of transformed cells or sectors. The FLP/FRT system is used in conjunction with GFP as a visible marker for transformation and FRT excision. A nucleotide sequence optimized for expression of the green fluorecent protein in plants is also provided.

    • Some embodiments of the present invention provide a system that tests a software program. During operation, the system creates a behavioral model of the software program using branches, decisions, and options. Next, the system applies a weight assignment technique to the behavioral model to create a set of global identifiers (IDs), which correspond to test cases of the behavioral model. The system then generates a test case from the behavioral model and executes the test case on the software program. Finally, the system analyzes an output of the executed test case to determine a validity of the software program.

    • The information system and method for collecting, transferring and administrating quality control data, and particularly HACCP data disclosed allows bi-directional communication between a plurality of remote wireless measurement devices and a central web server through a local com/data link. The com/data link provides wireless communication with the various measurement devices and communication with the web server via an Internet connection. An Internet based database and website interface provides centralized data storage and easily accessible data management and analysis. Administrator/users can access and manage the data from any location or device with Internet connectivity. The measurement devices allow their operation and functions to be configured and reconfigured by uploading customized device “data packets” into the devices system memory. The Internet-based user interface allows administrator/users to remotely customize and modify these “data packets” for each individual measurement device to suit each specific application. The bi-directional communication between the various wireless measurement devices and the web server allows administrator/users to reconfigure each individual measurement device remotely through an Internet-based user interface.
