    • A terminal and a brightness control method thereof are provided. The terminal includes an illumination sensor for measuring peripheral illumination of the terminal, a proximity sensor for detecting an object within a preset distance, a memory for storing a brightness table including data for controlling brightness of a display unit corresponding to the measured illumination, the display unit for displaying and for changing a brightness of the display unit under control of a controller, and the controller for controlling the display unit to change the brightness according to the measured illumination and the brightness table when the object is not detected. The terminal and brightness control method thereof provide a more suitable screen to a user.

    • In one embodiment of the present invention, a main server receives a content request identifying a content category from a client and identifies the client sending the request from the content request. Then, the content category from the content request is identified. The main server determines if the content category is included in a preference tag of the identified client. The preference tag comprises a plurality of hierarchical category identifiers selected from a hierarchical configuration of category identifiers. If the content category is included in the preference tag associated with the identified client, then personalized content according to the preference tag of the identified client is provided. Thus, a method and system for providing content according to personal preference are provided.

    • A method of fabricating a vertical transistor in a semiconductor device improves integration of the semiconductor device according to a design rule. After a semiconductor substrate is etched to form a buried bit line, a gate electrode pattern that surrounds a cylindrical channel region pattern of the vertical transistor is formed, thereby preventing damage to the gate electrode pattern due to an etching process. The gate electrode pattern surrounds the channel region pattern where a width is narrower than second source and drain regions. The second source and drain regions are then deposited over the channel region pattern and the gate electrode pattern. As a result, a neck-shaped channel region does not collapse due to the weight of the second source and drain regions.
