    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring for reducing the amount of gas to leak through a closed gap for a long period.
      SOLUTION: A top ring 21 to be mounted on the outer periphery groove of a piston for an internal combustion engine prevents the leakage of combustion gas or exhaust gas form a combustion chamber into a bore of a cylinder 11. It functions as a compression ring for preventing the leakage of oil or blow-by gas from the bore of the cylinder 11 into the combustion chamber. Abutment joints (gaps) are formed at both ends of the top ring 21. Insertion holes 21d, 21e are formed in joint surfaces 21a, 21b facing each other with the closed gap therebetween. A resin member 30 has protruded portions 30d, 30e to be inserted into the insertion holes 21d, 21e and a protruded portion 30a for abutting on a cylinder inner wall 11a.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembled oil ring capable of making tension of an expander in a suitable value from starting of an engine to a high speed rotation in the assembled oil ring pushing the oil ring outside by the expander. SOLUTION: The assembled oil ring 4 has an oil return hole 10 on a groove bottom of an oil receiving groove 9 formed between two upper and lower rails 7 and 8 extending to an outer periphery, and comprises a metal ring 5 forming a groove 11 in an inner periphery, and an expander ring installed on the inner peripheral groove 11 of the metal ring 5 and pushing the metal ring 5 outward in a radial direction. The expander ring is a resin ring 6 having a structure increasing tension caused by thermal expansion while companion faces are brought into contact with each other, and an oil passage 15 connected with the oil return hole 10 of the metal ring 5 is formed to penetrate through the resin ring 6 from its outer periphery to its inner periphery.       SOLUTION: A valve main body 10 comprises a stem part 11 and a head part 12 provided on one end of the stem part 11 and including a head face surface facing a combustion chamber and a head back surface 14 facing intake air passage, and has a valve face 15 sticking to a valve seat on an outer circumference edge part of the head back surface 14. A back side heat insulating layer 20 composed of heat resistant resin is formed on the head back surface 14 excluding the valve face 15. The back side heat insulating layer 20 includes a straightening path 24 straightening intake air flow to the combustion chamber from the intake air passage to accelerate intake.
