摘要： A latch for holding a rack mounted device into a rack is disclosed. The latch is formed from an essentially flat plate. The latch has an attachment section used to attach the latch to the rack mounted device. A serpentine section is formed adjacent to the attachment section. A beam section extends at an angle from the serpentine section. A head is attached to the end of the beam. The head has a catch that extends from the edge of the beam by a distance X, where X is in the plane of the flat plate. The serpentine section allows the head to be deflected by distance X where the deflection is in the plane of the flat plate.

摘要： A drive carrier comprises a base adapted to receive a drive, two opposing sides extending from the base with each side having first and second stand-off receiving apertures that each receives a stand-off from a surface on which the drive carrier is positioned. The carrier comprises a handle coupled to each side via a hinge. The handle has a stand-off receiving notch associated with each side and each stand-off receiving notch receives one of the stand-offs when the drive carrier is locked in place on the surface. Each notch applies insertion and removal forces against the received stand-off during insertion and removal of the carrier. The hinge defines a plane through the hinges and parallel to the base. The handle pivots downward toward the plane and base to lock the drive carrier to the surface. When the drive carrier is in a locked position, the handle rests above the plane.

The method comprises the steps of: providing a membrane distillation unit having an evaporation side in fluid communication with a first reservoir for containing the fluid, and a condensation side being in fluid communication with a second reservoir for containing a coolant; evaporating at least a portion of the fluid and condensing the fluid in the second reservoir. The method further comprises the steps of controllably transferring heat from the coolant to the fluid such that the temperature of the fluid is maintained at a predetermined temperature.

摘要： A thermal management structure to provide mechanical isolation and heat removal for a unpackaged semiconductor die mounted directly on a printed circuit board substrate. The thermal management structure sandwiches the unpackaged semiconductor die and substrate between two heat sink pieces which are rigidly mounted to the substrate, thereby mechanically isolating the unpackaged semiconductor die and preventing the die from being accidentally touched. The two heat sink pieces further compliantly thermally engage selected sites on the exposed face of the semiconductor die and the surface of the substrate to conductively remove heat away from the substrate. The thermal management structure may also thermally engage selected thermally conductive components within an end product to spread the heat more uniformly throughout the system.
