    • In a speed control system for vehicles, a speed-difference calculation circuit calculates an absolute value of a time difference between a predetermined period of time corresponding with a desired speed and the actual period of time corresponding with the actual speed, an acceleration calculation circuit calculates an absolute value of a time difference between the preceding and following actual periods of time within a limited range, and correction signal generator calculates a sum of the absolute values when each sign of the calculated time differences is positive or negative and calculates a difference between the absolute values when respective signs of the calculated time differences are opposite to each other. The signal generator selectively produces correction signals related to the calculated sum and the calculated difference. A distribution circuit produces a control signal in response to the respective correction signals, and an actuator controls the opening angle of the engine throttle in response to the control signal.

    • A collision sensing system for vehicles is provided in which a moving core shaft having alternately notched and projecting portions formed thereon or a permanent magnet serving as a moving core and magnetized to create therein alternate north and south poles is disposed to move relative to a stator for providing a magnetic path, whereby when a vehicle comes into collision, the magnetic reluctance of the magnetic path is caused to change rapidly at plural times and a generating winding wound on the stator thus generates the waveform of an output voltage proportional to the rate of the plurality of changes of the magnetic reluctance. This output voltage is compared with a predetermined value to determine, whether a controlled system such as an air bag should be actuated to thereby actuate the controlled system properly.

    • An audio communication system includes a first analog/digital convertor, a second analog/digital convertor, and an echo canceller. The first analog/digital convertor converts an audio signal, which is input from a microphone, to a data signal. The second analog/digital convertor that converts an audio signal, which is input from an auxiliary input terminal, to a data signal. When an audio signal transmitted from the outside is received and output from a speaker, the echo canceller prevents an output of the speaker from being input through the microphone and echoed back to a recipient or remote device. An operating frequency of the echo canceller is relatively lower than a sampling frequency of the second analog/digital convertor.

    • A printing apparatus includes a printing unit for printing visual information on a non-recording surface of a rotatably driven recording medium by discharging ink droplets. A control unit controls movement of the printing unit in a radial direction of the recording medium, and discharge timing of the ink droplets. The printing unit prints the visual information by multi-path printing by printing on a same radius position of the non-recording surface by discharging ink from different ink discharge nozzles. The control unit controls the printing unit so as to print with a first printing pattern having a first number of paths and a second printing pattern having a second number of paths. The first printing pattern is used on other locations of the non-recording surface and the second printing pattern is used when printing on an innermost periphery region of the non-recording surface.
