The loop material includes a composite sheet of stitch bonded construction including a polymer film substrate layer. A first plurality of yarn elements extends in stitched relation through the substrate layer to define a plurality of parallel stitch lines of flat stitches extending along the machine direction of the sheet material to form a ground layer substantially covering an upper surface of the substrate layer. A second plurality of yarn elements extends in stitched relation through the substrate layer in zigzag crossing relation between parallel needle lines to define a plurality of raised loops extending above the ground layer.

In one embodiment, the nonwoven substrate can further contain binder fibers which are fused to adjacent fibers. Through this configuration, a fabric is produced having a tapestry-like look. The fabric can be used in many diverse applications, such as being used as an upholstery fabric.

摘要： A weaving system is provided to automatically maintain a printed pattern in alignment with a woven pattern as a fabric is being formed. The printed pattern is printed onto the warp yarns. A controller is used to monitor the position of the printed pattern during the weaving process relative to the position of a woven pattern that is being formed into the fabric. Should the printed pattern and woven pattern fall out of alignment, the controller then alters the longitudinal size of the woven pattern, the printed pattern, or both patterns, in order to realign the patterns.

A pile yarn is stitchbonded into the substrate in combination with the ground yarn. During formation at least a portion of the pile yarns are shifted over sinker fingers between non-adjacent needles such that loops extend in arching relation over at least one intermediate needle line. Once the yarns have been stitchbonded into the substrate, the upstanding loops are subjected to a napping treatment wherein the loops are pulled away from the substrate until broken. An arrangement of split and frayed yarn ends is formed over the ground layer.

摘要： A decorative texturized fabric is provided. The fabric is produced from a fabric substrate that includes a yarn nappable from one side of the substrate. For instance, in one embodiment, the fabric substrate is a warp knitted fabric. According to the present invention, the fabric substrate is treated with a size composition according to a particular pattern. The fabric is then napped causing a nap to form on one side of the fabric where the size composition has not been applied. In this manner, a texturized pattern is formed into the fabric. After napping, the size composition can be removed from the fabric and the fabric can be dyed.
