    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. which improves the rigidity, esp. the elongation at break and impact strength at low temps., of a resin such as polypropylene while hardly causing blocking, etc., and which is excellent in productivity and workability by compounding an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer having specified density, etc., and a specified monomer ratio with an ethylene copolymer in a specified wt. ratio. SOLUTION: 99-30 wt.% copolymer which has an ethylene content of 55-70 mol%, a 4-20C α-olefin content of 30-45 mol%, a density of 0.863 g/cm or lower, an intrinsic viscosity (135 deg.C, decalin) of 0.1-8.0, a Tg (DSC) of -60 deg.C or lower, a crystallinity of 1% or lower, a ratio of Tαβ/Tαα (NMR) of 0.5 or lower, and a B value in formula I of 0.9 to 1.5 is compounded with 1-70 wt.% copolymer which is formed from ethylene and a compd. selected from among 3-20C α-olefins, cycloolefins, and arom. vinyl compds. and has a density of 0.890-0.940 g/cm and a melt flow rate of 0.3-50 and of which the temp.(Tm) and density (d) at the max. peak position in the endothermic curve by DSC satisfies the relation represented by formula II.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-conjugate cyclic diene and its composition capable of producing a (co)polymer with high polymerizing activity and a process for production of a non-conjugate cyclic diene polymer capable of producing the (co)polymer with high polymerizing activity. SOLUTION: The non-conjugate cyclic diene satisfies at least one of (1) a specific amount or less of a compound having seven membered triene hydrocarbon structure and (2) a specific amount or less of a conjugated polyene compound having bicyclic eight membered hydrocarbon structure. The process for production of the non-conjugate cyclic diene polymer provides the non-conjugate cyclic diene for (co)polymerization using an olefinic polymerization catalyst containing an organic aluminumoxy compound and/or an ionized ionic compound. The process for production uses the polymerization of a crude non-conjugate cyclic diene after contacting with an alkali followed by removal of at least a part of low boiling fraction and at least a part of high boiling point fraction.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer with high conversion of a non-conjugated polyene and good polymerization activity, whereby unreacted monomers and a hydrocarbon solvent can be removed from a solution containing the copolymer obtained by copolymerization using a transition metal compound catalyst in the hydrocarbon solvent without removing the residual catalyst.
      SOLUTION: The copolymer comprising ethylene, a 3-20C α-olefin and a norbornene skeleton-having non-conjugated polyene is produced by using the polymerization catalyst containing a transition metal compound composed of (A) a transition metal compound having a specific structure and (B) at least one compound selected from the following (B-1)-(B-3): (B-1) an organometallic compound, (B-2) an organic aluminum oxy compound and (B-3) a compound to form an ion pair by reacting with the transition metal compound (A). The copolymer is characterized by the followings: (i) the Mooney viscosity ML at 100°C is in a specific range, or the intrinsic viscosity [η] in decalin at 135°C is in a specific range; (ii) the content ratio of the ethylene, α-olefin and non-conjugated polyolefin is in a specific range; and (iii) the ethylene molar fraction, ethylene/α-olefin diad molar fraction, ethylene/non-conjugated polyene diad molar fraction, α-olefin molar fraction and non-conjugated polyene molar fraction satisfy a specific relation.
