    • PURPOSE:To prevent the uneven wear of roll by installing a moving device for moving a work roll in its axial direction in a roll chock to make the work roll movable in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A rolling material 1 is rolled by upper and lower work rolls 2a, 2b which are crossing each other at a prescribed cross angle and upper and lower backup rolls 3a, 3b which are in contact with the outsides of rolls 2a, 2b respectively. Both ends of said rolls 2a, 2b are freely rotatably supported by a pair of roll chocks 4a, 4b and are mounted so as to be vertically movably in a housing 6. Further, the roll 2b is supported freely movably in its axial direction by the chock 4b, and a moving device for moving the roll 2b in its axial direction is also housed in the chock 4b. Thus, the uneven wear of roll is prevented by this device.

CONSTITUTION:There are arranged an upper rod 4 and a lower rod 24 so that a plate member 1 may be held therebetween, and there are fitted to the front end and the rear end thereof upper blade blocks 2a, 2b, and lower blade blocks 22a, 22b respectively. The respective blocks 2a-2b are fitted with blades 3a, 3b and blades 23a, 23b respectively. And the upper blade blocks 2a, 2b, and the lower blade blocks 22a, 22b are connected to crank arms 5a, 5b, 25a, 25b respectively which are connected to crank shafts 7a, 7b, 27a, 27b. This constitution allows the front blades 3a and 23a, and the rear blades 3b and 23b to be driven in an engaging manner by means of the crank arms 5a-25b, cutting the plate member.

    • PURPOSE: To quickly and exactly a prescribed amount displace a vertical roll, by upholding a hydraulic block between a screw and a vertical roll bearing chock, and by providing the hydraulic block with a hydraulic ram, a position detector and a flow control valve.
      CONSTITUTION: A pressure oil is introduced into a pressure chamber at the back of a hydraulic ram 5, a motor 15 is started, the rotation of the motor 15 is transmitted to a screw 3 through a speed reducer 16 and a reduction gear mechanism 17, and the screw 3 is advanced or withdrawn in order to set the roll gap. A material 18 to be rolled is threaded through the left and right vertical rolls 9, and the breadth of the material 18 before the rolling pass is measured and the result of measurement is inputted to a computer which then computes the deviation, etc., of the measured breadth from a preset breadth value. A control signal is produced from the computer and is inputted to a flow control valve 7 which then corrects the valve opening. The hydraulic ram 5 is then actuated to adjust the roll gap, and the adjusted roll gap is detected by a position detector 6; the detected roll gap is fed back to the computer.

    • PURPOSE:To make the descaling treatment to adapt itself to variations of the line speed, in order to stabilize the operation, by installing the descaling apparatus comprising the scale breaker, the high pressure water jetter, and the brushing roll, on the feeding side of the cold rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:On the feeding side of the cold rolling mill 7, the descaling apparatus comprising the scale breaker 4, the high pressure water jetter 5, and the brushing roll 6, is installed; the hot rolled steel sheet passed through the welder 2 and the looper 3 is introduced into this descaling apparatus, where the cracks are formed in the scale, and next, the scale is removed off by the high pressure water jet, and the remaining scale and foreign matters are removed off by the brushing roll 6; hereby, the sheet surface is cleaned, and the sheet is cold rolled by the cold rolling mill 7. As a result, the conventional pickling apparatus is unnecessitated, and the descaling treatment adapts itself to variations of the line speed, and besides, since the fluid mixture of iron sands or the like is not used, the early abrasion of the appartus is avoided, so that the operation is stabilized.
