    • There is disclosed a cassette loading device of a compact, lightweight, thin type for use in a video movie or the like. An opening lever is pivotally mounted on a stand, and is engaged in a cam groove with a top plate. With this arrangement, the opening lever is accommodated within a longitudinal dimension of a cassette, and therefore the loading device in the direction of the longitudinal dimension of the cassette can be greatly reduced. The cassette is moved through the pivotal movement of the top plate and arms, and with this arrangement operating switches and so on can be easily mounted on a plane of projection of the top plate. Therefore, the positional stability of the cassette loading device can be achieved, and the number of component parts can be reduced, thereby achieving a compact, lightweight construction of the cassette loading device.

    • Disclosed is a tape loading device of a video tape recorder provided with an inclined video head cylinder (4) and a capstan (8). The tape loading device includes a first guide member (25) for feeding a tape (18) on a horizontal path to the inclined video head cylinder (4). a second guide member (26) for taking out the tape (18) from the video head cylinder (4), and a third guide member (27) for guiding the tape (18) having passed the second guide member (26). The first, second and third guide members (25, 26, 27) move along the video head cylinder (4) and are in contact with the internal surface of the tape (18) during the tape loading operation. The tape loading device further includes a fourth guide member (28) for restoring the tape (18) from an inclined path to a horizontal path during the tape loading operation by contacting the external surface of the tape (18), and an auxiliary inclined member (37) for moving the tape (18) inwardly during the tape loading operation so that the tape (18) may be restored from an inclined path to a horizontal path. The auxiliary inclined member (37) functions to make large the tape winding angle with respect to the third guide member. After the tape loading opera­tion, a tape path is completed along the first guide member (25), the video head cylinder (4), the second, third and fourth members (26, 27, 28), and the capstan (8).

    • The invention is concerned with a magnetic recording/playback apparatus in which a magnetic tape is paid out from a tape cassette and wound around a cylindrical rotary head cylinder, having a rotary head built therein, over a predetermined angle to record/playback signals through the rotary head, and more particularly, with a tape guide post driving mechanism, a pinch roller pressing mechanism and a tension servo mechanism. Specifically, the invention provides a tape guide post driving device which can reduce the size, weight and thickness of the apparatus by ensuring a large angle of rotation of a rotating member, which includes a tension arm, in a direct manner. Also, the invention realizes a pinch roller pressing mechanism in which a sufficient stroke can be obtained even when a cam gear is reduced in its diameter and can provide a sufficient stroke even with a small amount of rotation. Further, the invention prolongs the service life and achieves a remarkable reduction in both the number of parts used and the number of assembling steps by using a pad brake (brake member), instead of a band brake, for braking a rotating member and bringing the brake member into full contact over the former's entire surface with the member being braked.
