    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source of an image forming device which unerringly prevents a defect from occurring and has high reliability and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The light source 1 of an image forming device has a plate clad 23 having a plurality of narrow grooves 21 partitioned off by bulkheads 22 on one side, a core 11 made of a material having translucency whose refraction factor is higher than the clad 23 and put into the narrow grooves 21 with the top faces lowered than the height of the bulkhead 22 and a light-emitting element 30 provided on the top face of the core 11. Since a lower layer electrode 31 formed on the top face of the core 11 is unerringly covered by a light-emitting layer 32 formed on the top face, a defect such as a disconnection or a short circuit can be prevented from occurring in the light-emitting element 30. A material whose hardness is lower than the clad 23 is used for one for the core 11 and the top face of the core 11 and the top face of the clad 23 (bulkheads 22) can be easily formed by polishing.
