    • A program executing apparatus includes a first storage section which stores data permitted to be leaked out; a second storage section which stores secret data of a user; a communication section which can communicate with an external unit; a program storage section which stores at least one application program; and a program executing section, checks a possibility that the secret data could be leaked out to the external unit, and stops the execution of the at least one application program when it is determined that the secret data could be leaked out. The check of the possibility that the secret data could be leaked out is based on whether the at least one application program contains a process of communicating with the external unit or a process of writing data in the first storage section and a process of reading the secret data from the second storage section.

    • In a local area network, at least one host terminal has an application program and operates as a source host and other host terminals operate as destination hosts. Each host terminal executes a file management program. The source host, when executing its file management program, updates its management table with an application name identifying the application program and a file name, and transmits a request message to the destination hosts. Each destination host, when executing its file management program, responds to the request message by acquiring the application program from the source host if the application program is nonexistent in the destination host and updates its management table with the application name and the file name. Each host terminal starts the application program by opening a file identified by the file name and collaborates on a joint project with other host terminals.

    • A location information conversion device which can ensure privacy protection of a search object. Upon receiving a request with a designated accuracy from an input/output section, a location information generating section acquires location information from a location measurement section and supplies the location information to an accuracy adjustment section, together with the designated accuracy. The accuracy adjustment section converts the location information into location information of an accuracy equal to or lower than the designated accuracy and returns the resulting location information to the location information generating section. The location information generating section sends the location information whose accuracy has been converted to the requesting party via an input/output section. This ensures protection of privacy, since the location information about a search object is converted into location information of an accuracy equal to or lower than the designated accuracy.

    • The cooperative work support system of the present invention has at least a first terminal and a second terminal in a communication network, wherein each terminal comprises: a file system for storing a shared file; a file transmitter for transmitting the shared file between the first terminal and the second terminal; and a sharable file list manager for registering shared file information into a sharable file list. The sharable file list manager in the second terminal determines whether the shared file exists within the second terminal based on the shared file information, and sends a transmission request to request the first terminal to transmit the shared file to the second terminal when the shared file does not exist within the second terminal. The file transmitter in the first terminal sends the shared file from the first terminal to the second terminal through the communication network in response to the transmission request. The sharable file list manager in the second terminal updates the shared file information in the sharable file list in the second terminal after the transmission of the shared file.

    • A passenger conveyer control apparatus includes various kinds of safety devices including a skirt guard switch, a terminal inlet switch, a chain safety switch and first and second microcomputers. The first microcomputer executes sequence processing corresponding to the operation of an escalator by the detection of an actuation of any of the safety devices, such as the start and stop of the escalator on the turn-on and off of the switches. The result of the processing is used for driving the escalator through driving means via an output memory. The second microcomputer executes processing by detecting the actuation of any safety device by the input signals from the safety device, whereupon a running permissive signal is outputted from an output terminal and executes processing for judging the operating situations of the safety devices of the escalator, and whereupon the judged results are communicated via a telephone interface and a public circuit to a centralized monitoring office which is in charge of maintenance.
