    • An initialization function of a lighting direction control apparatus of a vehicle lamp is provided with functions: for swinging, in a first direction, a lamp across the initial position until the lamp is bumped; for swinging, in the opposite direction (a second direction), the lamp from the bumped position across the initial position at a predetermined angle; and for swinging, in the first direction, the lamp at an angle across the initial direction. The bumped position is defined as a deflection angle position at which the headlamp does not dazzle the driver of a car approaching from the opposite direction. The predetermined angle is defined as an angle greater than a reflection error angle that is generated at the bumping time.

    • A power window device in which a drive pulley around which a wire to open and close a window is wound is disposed within a case of a power window drive section and a wire guide for guiding the wire is mounted on the case. The wire guide is composed of a first wire guide for guiding one end of the wire and a second wire guide for guiding the other end of the wire. The second wire guide is removably coupled to the first wire guide. A wire guide angle .theta..sub.0 between the wire guides can be changed merely by exchanging the second wire guide. Even when a different wire guide angle is required, the size of the component to be replaced can be reduced, as can the cost to manufacture.

    • A power window apparatus with a safety device capable of taking a safety measure when it detects the neck or hand of a passenger being caught in the window, which device can exactly detect such a dangerous state and take a reliable safety measure to correct for the same, irrespective of variations of ambient temperature. A temperature sensor provided which senses the temperature of the motor acting as a drive source for moving the window. This temperature is closely related to the ambient temperature. A reference value for the motor speed for detecting an object-caught state is altered according to the detected temperature, thereby providing exact detection of the object-caught state irrespective of temperature variations. Preferably, the power transmission for the window, the temperature sensor, and a controller structure are mounted on an inner side of a single housing.

    • A vehicle head light includes a lighting casing; a lamp unit disposed in the lighting casing; a support member that supports the lamp unit so as to be rotatable at least in two directions; and an actuator that rotates the lamp unit with respect to the support member. The actuator includes a support portion attached to the support member; and a main unit being supported by the support portion so as to be movable in a front-rear direction. The support portion includes a shaft holding portion on a lower surface thereof. The main unit includes a bearing portion on an upper surface thereof. A driving mechanism is provided in the main unit. The driving mechanism includes a connecting shaft to which the lamp unit is coupled. A guide shaft is inserted through the shaft holding portion of the support portion and the bearing portion of the main unit. The guide shaft guides the main unit when the main unit moves in the front-rear direction with respect to the support portion of the main unit.
