    • PURPOSE:To obtain a corona wire superior in ozone oxidation resistance and long in life by forming an alumina film on the surface of an Fe-Si-B type amorphous alloy wire in a prescribed thickness by sputtering. CONSTITUTION:The Fe-Si-B type amorphous alloy wire 1 is coated with the alumina film in a thickness of >=5,000 Angstrom by sputtering while the wire 1 is kept on rotating. This wire 1 is higher in tensile strength than that of a tungsten wire, etc., and since the wire 1 is almost equal in thermal expansion coefft. to alumina, the cracking and peeling of the film are prevented and the corona wire superior in ozone oxidation resistance can be obtained.
