    • An image acquisition apparatus has an imaging optical system. An imaging section has a plurality of imaging pixels arranged at non-uniform intervals within an imaging surface. An image restoration processing section has a coefficient memory in which a predetermined coefficient sequence is recorded, and an image restoration processing circuit which carries out computation processing between the coefficient sequence recorded in the coefficient memory and the image signals from the imaging section. The image restoration processing section generates an image in a desired display pixel arrangement.

    • An exposure apparatus is arranged to project one unit of a circuit pattern onto the surface of a resist on a substrate to be manufactured and to expose it over the surface of this resist. The exposure apparatus includes a processing unit that enables forming a high-resolution circuit pattern image on the substrate by the use of an image display which is able to ensure a wide display region without deteriorating the resolution, and that when dividing the one unit of circuit pattern into a plurality of regions in order to ensure an inexpensive, reliable exposure operation, divides it so that adjacent ones of the divided regions may partly overlap each other. An exposure device includes a plurality of optical systems each of that projects one of a plurality of the divided regions onto the surface of the resist on the substrate. A control unit causes a plurality of the divided regions to be simultaneously projected on the surface of the resist in such a way as to cause duplex regions between the adjacent regions to overlap each other on the surface of the resist on the substrate to thereby cause the one unit of circuit pattern image to be formed on the surface of the resist on the substrate.

    • An electrophotographic developing apparatus uses a two-component developer comprising a carrier and a toner for development. The apparatus includes an intermediate roller with a non-magnetic sleeve accommodating a magnetic roller disposed between a developing roller and an agitating device for tribo-frictionally charging the carrier and the toner. After forming a magnetic brush consisting of the carrier and the toner, the toner is transferred to the developing roller by applying a first bias to the intermediate roller and the developing roller. A second bias is applied to the developing roller and an image carrier included in the apparatus to cause the toner to selectively attach to the image carrier. A third bias is applied to the developing roller and the intermediate roller to cause the toner to transfer back to the intermediate roller. The intermediate roller has two like polarity poles facing the agitating device and has a peripheral speed which is greater than the developing roller and photosensitive drum.

    • A particle charging apparatus for charging a photo-sensitive drum by magnetically holding magnetic particles in a charging zone and impressing a charging bias on the magnetic particles. Adjacent to an opposed pole which is disposed on the back side of the photo-sensitive drum on the charging zone upstream side for forming a vertical magnetic field, an opposite polarity magnet or magnetic member is disposed such that a mainly horizontal magnetic field is formed on the drum by the opposed and adjacent poles. A vertical magnetic field is formed on the charging zone downstream side by a main pole and the opposed pole. A non-magnetic sleeve with the main pole therein is rotated in the direction opposite that of the drum, thus causing magnetic particles in the vertical magnetic field to be circulated toward the charging zone upstream side. Leakage and spattering of magnetic particles out of the charging zone is effectively prevented by simple construction, and stable charging is permitted even with a reduced photo-sensitive drum size or with assembling errors of a charging sleeve or the like.

Thus, rotation of the major axis of the intensity distribution of the laser beam causes rotation of the trapped specimen.
