摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for minimizing the inherent time delays within external defibrillators. The methods and apparatuses utilize timing schemes for initiation and completion of charging of an energy storage device of an external defibrillator, measuring one or physical parameters of the patient and conducting a physiology analysis of the patient. The initiation and completion of one or more of these activities are arranged so that the energy storage device is charged to a desired level and available for a defibrillation shock to the patient with minimal delay after activation of the external defibrillator.

摘要： A seat identification system for passengers in a cabin of a commercial airliner. Four sign components, identified as the aisle, mile, row and seat components, are arranged and positioned throughout the airplane in a configuration that allows the passengers to receive information about their seats when needed. The aisle signage markers direct the passengers down the appropriate aisle which leads to their seat. The interval row markers or mile markers provide a general location of the particular row in the aircraft for the passenger's seats. The individual row markers are preferably located in the passenger service unit modules and in viewing channels in order to allow the markers to be visible from the aisle. The seat markers are located preferably on the headrest on each seat and are the final vindication that the passenger is in the correct seat.

In some embodiments, a telemetry head may be removably coupled to the external defibrillator to facilitate communication with the IMD. The defibrillator may receive information, such as patient, device, physiological, and treatment information, from the IMD. The defibrillator may use some or all of this information during treatment of the patient. For example, the defibrillator may prompt a user, or modify programmed user prompts based on the information. The defibrillator may deliver therapy based on the information. The information may include real-time values of physiological parameters monitored by the IMD, which may be displayed by the external defibrillator. The external defibrillator may control delivery of therapy by the IMD. The defibrillator may collect medical event information during treatment of the patient, and store the medical event information in the IMD.

An area is mapped by an entity that traverses sidewalks, ramps, driveways, crosswalks, and other terrain in the area to create a memory of usable paths to reach addressed destinations. A human operator, possibly assisted by a computer-executed mathematical algorithm, approves routes that are considered safe. When a route is approved, it enters the memory as a safe, traversable route. If a route is not approved, it is marked as unsafe and the entity finds an alternate route to get to the same location such as by going around the block or in another direction.
