摘要： A nanoparticulate imaging probe with an oxide core, a biocompatible polymeric shell covalently attached to the oxide core, a dye, and a cleavable spacer that covalently binds the dye to the probe. When the spacer is cleaved, the dye is liberated from the probe. The emissions of the dye are quenched when the dye is bound to the probe and not quenched when the dye is liberated from the probe. The spacer can be, for example, a peptide. The oxide core can be, for example, a silicon oxide core.

摘要： In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a photographic element is described comprising a support bearing one or more hydrophilic colloid layers including at least one photographic silver halide emulsion layer, wherein sequestered silver ions are incorporated into at least one hydrophilic colloid layer in the form of a silver ion containing material which sequesters silver ions prior to photographic processing and releases silver ions upon exposure to photographic processing solutions. Method for preparing and processing such photographic element are also described. In accordance with particular embodiments of the invention, the silver ion containing material comprises a silver ion-exchanged zeolite material or an intercalation composition comprising a layered host material having silver ions inserted as guest ions between the layers of the host material. The invention provides novel photographic materials and a method of incorporating silver ions directly into a photographic imaging element with improved stability and keeping response. The incorporation of silver ion containing materials into a photographic element in accordance with the invention enables increased upper scale density without excessive build-up of fog in the system.

摘要： The present invention is a photographic element which includes a support, at least one silver halide emulsion layer superposed on the support and a processing-solution-permeable protective overcoat overlying the silver halide emulsion layer. The processing solution permeable overcoat is composed of a urethane-containing component having acid functionalities wherein a weight ratio of a polyurethane-containing component in the copolymer comprises from 20 to 100 percent and a weight ratio of an optional vinyl component in the copolymer comprises from 0 to 80 percent, which urethane-containing component of the overcoat may comprise either a single polyurethane polymer or an interpenetrating network comprising two or more polymers. The overcoat further comprises a polyvinyl alcohol polymer having a molecular weight of about 150,000 or less, with the proviso that the degree of hydrolysis is less than 95% when the molecular weight is more than about 100,000. The present invention is also directed to a method of making a photographic print involving developing the photographic element.
