摘要： A rotary head type magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing an analog wide-band video signal, audio signal and compressed digital signal on the same recording medium. The modulated analog wide-band video signal or the narrow-band-converted compressed digital signal is recorded on two video tracks adjacent to each other on a magnetic tape (301) by magnetic heads (301a, 301b and 302a, 302b) on a rotary drum (300). In another arrangement in which the audio signals multiplexed in frequency are recorded on the audio track adjacent to the video tracks on the magnetic tape (310) by the magnetic heads (303a, 303b) and the decision circuit (264), by utilizing the signal reproduced from the audio track, determines whether the signal recorded on the video tracks is analog or digital, the input analog wide-band video signal is divided into signals of two channels by the recording-system analog signal processing circuit (57), those signals are recorded on the magnetic tape (60) in multi-track recording by a pair of magnetic heads (62a, 62b) and another pair of magnetic heads (62, 62d), the input audio signals are modulated by the FM modulator (15) and the QPSK modulator (16), and recorded in a deep-layer portion of another track between the video tracks. A compressed digital digital signal received by the antenna (1) is added with error correction codes by the recording-system digital signal processing circuit (5), and is modulated by the 16QAM modulator (6) so that the spectral components of the compressed digital signal does not enter the audio signal frequency band, and is recorded on said audio track superposed but in a deeper-layer portion of the tape by yet another pair of magnetic heads (64a, 64b).

摘要： In a helical scan type magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus using rotary heads, magnetic heads (22a and 22b) for FM audio signals, magnetic heads (23a and 23b) for PCM audio signals, and magnetic heads (24a and 24b) for a video signal are arranged on a cylinder, respectively. The FM audio magnetic heads (22a and 22b), the PCM audio magnetic heads (23a and 23b), and the video signal magnetic heads (24a and 24b) have mutually different azimuth angles, respectively. The FM audio signals are first recorded in a deep layer (39) of a magnetic tape (26) by the FM audio heads, the digital modulation signals of the PCM audio signals are then recorded in an intermediate layer (40) by the PCM audio heads, and the video signal is finally recorded in a surface layer (41) by the video signal heads. Upon recording, the FM carrier frequency of the audio signals and the digital modulation carrier frequency of the PCM audio signals are set to frequencies lower than the frequency band of the FM luminance signal in the video signal. The Offset Quadrature Differential Phase-Shift Keying (O-QDPSK) modulation is used as a method of digitally modulating the PCM audio signals.

摘要： An apparatus for recording and reproducing a digital video signal on and from a common recording medium by using the head configuration common to the conventional one while maintaining exchangeability with the current analog VTR. An analog video and audio signals are recorded and reproduced on and from an video track and an underlying deep-layer track, respectively, by means of magnetic heads (1a, 1b) and magnetic heads (2a, 2b). On the other hand, a digital video and audio signal is recorded and reproduced on and from two adjacent tracks by means of the magnetic heads (2a, 2b) for analog audio recording. During reproduction, an identification signal generating circuit (53) generates an identification signal for discriminating a recorded signal, and a control signal is PWM modulated with the identification signal and recorded on a control track by means of a magnetic head (4).
