摘要： A holder for dental floss to be used in conjunction with a disposable cartridge on which the floss is mounted. The holder in one embodiment is an oblong handle having two spaced apart resilient substantially parallel legs which depend from a junction at one end of the handle. The one end of the handle has a bifurcated extension beyond the junction, and portions of the two legs are adjustably engaged with each other so that when the two legs are moved towards each other, the arms of the bifurcated end of the handle are stressed and spread apart from each other. An element including a length of dental floss is mounted on the bifurcated end of the handle so that when the arms are spread apart, the length of dental floss becomes rectilinear. The element typically is a cartridge having a U-shaped resilient frame. The length of dental floss extends between the opposed ends of the frame. In another embodiment, the length of dental floss extends between the ends of the arms of the bifurcated end of the handle and the arms are stressed away from each other so that the arms are spread apart and the length of dental floss becomes stressed and rectilinear.

摘要： A lid for a container is provided generally comprising a main body and a door having a flip section pivotally connected to a push section, the push section pivotally connected to the main body. The main body includes a recess that defines a pivot wall. The flip section is positioned to engage the pivot wall and rotate relative to the push section in response to downward pressure on the push section. A detent mechanism is used to control opening the door in at least two stages. In the first stage, the detent mechanism substantially fixes the push section in a closed position, and in the second stage substantially fixes the push section in an open position. In one embodiment, the floor of the recess is sloped to increase container space and limit flexure of the push section of the door.

摘要： A flat folding writing instrument includes a generally planar elongated support, the support including a lengthwise direction, and at least two spaced apart living hinges extending in a generally lengthwise direction of the support, so as to divide the support into at least three lengthwise extending sections. A further hinge extends in a generally widthwise direction of the support so as to divide the support into two widthwise extending sections. The support also has two opposite lengthwise edges and a bottom edge. A writing member is secured to one of the lengthwise extending sections in one of the widthwise extending sections, and has a writing point thereof extending below the bottom edge of the support. A locking assembly is provided for securing the two lengthwise extending edges together when the support is folded along the hinges. The support can be folded along the lengthwise extending hinges such that the two opposite lengthwise edges are adjacent to each other and locked in position relative to each other by the locking assembly, so that the writing instrument can be used for writing. A pen cover is provided on the other widthwise extending section for engaging or covering the writing point of the writing member when the support is folded along the further widthwise extending hinge.

摘要： A computer controls a plurality of satellite machines in real time via a single bus comprised of undedicated, continuous transmission lines terminated at both ends in matching impedances. Each machine coupled to the bus is addressed and commanded during every computer cycle, responding only to signals directed to its address. When a machine is not electrically powered the computer provides an internal signal; computer cycles are never interrupted; continuous control of all other machines is maintained. Any number and mixed types of machines may operate from the bus simultaneously. Machines may be added or removed from bus, and machine programs may be added, removed or modified without interrupting operation of the other machines. Automatic safety reset is provided for machine or computer failure.
