    • A stator of a motor includes a stator core formed of a plurality of teeth and an annular yoke connecting the teeth to each other, and windings wound on the teeth. A rotor of the motor confronts the stator while supported rotatably, and includes a rotor magnet, a rotor core, and a position sensing magnet. The motor further includes a position sensor for sensing a rotational position of the rotor and a circuit board for supplying an electric current to the windings in response to the rotational position of the rotor. The rotor magnet, the rotor core, and the position sensing magnet are integrated into one unit, which is mounted on a shaft of the rotor.

    • An intermittent swirl type injection valve having a spray angle, capacity coefficient and fuel spray travel distance set so that the valve produces optimum engine operating conditions, with the spray angle, capacity coefficient and fuel spray travel distances being determined taking into account the gap area A.sub.c, the spray hole diameter d.sub.e, and the area A.sub.g of tangential passages in the valve. The injection valve includes a valve body and a valve needle slidably fitted in a valve hole formed in the valve body. A spray hole in the valve body merges with a valve seat provided at an end of the valve hole, and the spray hole is shaped to receive the lower end of the valve needle. Tangential passages swirl the fuel when the needle valve leaves the valve seat to open the valve to spray fuel substantially conically through the spray hole. The injection valve is designed so as to satisfy the following conditions:.alpha.=20.degree. to 75.degree.,d.sub.e =0.3 to 1.2 mm,and ##EQU1## where .alpha. is the spray angle of the fuel and .theta. is the angle between the central axis of the tangential passages and the central axis of the valve needle.

    • A spill type swirl injector includes a nozzle body, an injection port, a pressurized fluid induction passage, a valve assembly, a swirl chamber, two tangential pressurized fluid supply passages and a spill assembly including two spill openings provided on an outer cylindrical wall of a movable member of the valve assembly and opened to inner side of the swirl chamber. An axial hole provided in the movable member of the valve assembly and in the nozzle body and discharge passage assembly is connected to a pressurized fluid supply source, thereby spilling a predetermined quantity of the pressurized fluid from the inner side of the swirl chamber through the spill opening, axial hole and spill passage assembly. The spill type swirl injector immediately injects the fluid in the form of a liquid film flow having a sufficiently high swirling velocity, after the valve is opened, so that the sprayed liquid droplets are remarkably fine and uniform and the atomizing characteristics and response of the atomization to the injection pressure are improved in comparison with prior spill type swirl injectors.

    • A fuel injector which is enabled to form a fuel spray efficiently and properly into a flat sector shape by improving the angle, dispersion and atomization of the spray and by optimizing the spray tip penetration. A slit-shaped nozzle outlet 4 is constructed such that its transverse walls from its inner end 9 to its outer end 10 have an included angle .gamma. of 20 to 180 degrees, such that an angle .beta. of 0 to 90 degrees is made between the axis of the fuel injector and the opening direction of the slit-shaped nozzle outlet 4, such that the nozzle outlet 4 is diverged outward from a plane joining the axis to the fuel injector and the inner end 9, and such that the opposite portions of the inner end 9 have a width W of 0.05 mm to 0.24 mm. By combining these constructions suitably, the fuel spray can be formed efficiently and properly into a flat sector shape thereby to improve the fuel injection characteristics.
