摘要： Beam scanning system includes a rotatable element for receiving a stationary light beam at successive element facets to thereby impart a scanning motion to the light beam so as to scan a beam receiving medium. Deviation in the mechanical or optical performance related to each successive facet are corrected by use of a high-speed beam deflector operated in either a closed loop or open loop servo system. The beam deflector includes a unique piezoelectric plate and reflecting body structure, wherein parallel plates of piezoelectric material are bonded at selected locations to a reflecting body with flexible adhesive. The plates are supported by a platform and operatively connected to a plate driving means to effect motion of the body in a push-pull arrangement with respect to the platform. The resulting structure has a high resonant frequency even though a reflecting body in the form of relatively large glass mirror may be employed.

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing complex magnetization patterns in a sheet of magnetic material. A fixture having top and bottom plates with a matching conductor pattern embedded in one surface of each plate. The conductor pattern covers substantially the entire surface of each plate. To magnetize the sheet of magnetic material, it is placed between the plates and a magnetizing current is applied to the conductors with a capacitor discharge magnetizer. The resulting sheet of magnetized material is useful as a magnetic deactivator for electromagnetic security articles.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a shutter actuating mechanism for a photographic camera. The mechanism comprises a pair of spaced members adapted to be engaged by the thumb and forefinger of the camera user, and a resilient member positioned therebetween. A pinching or squeezing movement between the finger thumb and forefinger causes the spaced members to move toward each other, thereby producing a displacement of the resilient member. Such displacement of the resilient member produces a force which is used to actuate a shutter. Preferably, the spaced members, the resilient member and a plurality of coupling hinges comprise a one piece plastic structure having a constant transverse cross section, whereby the shutter actuating mechanism can be produced by conventional extrusion techniques.

摘要： An improved racket is provided for use in tennis and the like which is believed to enable a user to hit with more power while reducing the torsional forces on the arm. The racket of the invention includes a handle having a bent or offset portion which is of such a shape that the centerline of the racket head is substantially colinear with that of the forearm of the user and thus the racket head is effectively an extension of the arm. When viewed in plan, the throat or shaft of the racket is preferably offset downwardly about 32.degree. relative to the grip or butt portion of the handle while the racket head is preferably offset upwardly about 5.degree. relative to the throat. The racket also includes an improved grip which is fit to the hand of the user.

The ferric oxide powder in the binder is coated on a substrate to form a control element strip, laminated to the signal element, and chopped into lengths to form the responder target. Alternatively, the signal element strip is laminated to a support layer, and the ferric oxide is coated by extrusion over the signal element.
