    • PURPOSE: A non-deterministic Hangul inputting apparatus and method using a syllable context probability model and a table-based parsing are provided to considerably reduce the number of times of manipulating buttons to input characters in a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A contract type Hangul key board unit(10) generates a code assigned to a button when the button is manipulated. A button stream parsing unit(20) processes inputted buttons and generates available candidates and order of the candidates. A button stream/syllable corresponding table(30) is data used for effectively searching syllables. Syllable context probability data(40) are used to calculate the order of candidates according to probability. A parsing table(50) is used to store candidate syllable streams and erase re-calculation when a button is additionally inputted. A candidate selecting/processing unit(60) determines a syllable stream or changes a page of a candidate list. A screen output unit(70) outputs suitable content on an LCD with reference to the parsing table(50).
