    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create an area, wherein aquatic life can live, in a sloping artificial canal by utilizing the forces of nature.
      SOLUTION: This artificial canal 2 is equipped with a bottom section 4 of natural deposits and side wall sections 3A and 3B to which revetment is applied by using concrete. Cross members 6 for connecting both the wall sections 3A and 3B together are provided in the artificial canal 2 at a prescribed interval D1; notched parts 5A and 5B, which are formed in such a manner as to be different in width-direction position from the adjacent cross members 6 and 6, are provided in the upper parts of the cross members 6; and a swell-head board 8 is inserted into the notched parts 5A and 5B. The notched parts 5A and 5B and the cross members 6 bring about the creation of a water area S1 wherein a stream of water flows downward and a water area S2 wherein the stream of the water flows horizontally; a pool 12 is formed in the water area S1 by scouring; and a shoal 11 is formed in the water area S2 by depositing sediment.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank body reinforcing method suitable for such cases that a site cannot be assured or soil for construction is hard to be procured and capable of increasing a stability and a durability against heavy rain and earthquake. SOLUTION: A present bank body part E corresponding to a reinforcing area R is excavated. As required, filter layers SM and F are provided on the surface of the excavated bank body. Solidifying material such as cement is added to excavated bank body soil, and mixingly agitated with water to produce a large number of solidified soil lumps SS. The large number of solidified soil lumps SS are arranged on a lower flat part 12 close to each other. Packing soil PS formed of the excavated bank body soil is buried between the solidified soil lumps SS to form reinforcement soil layers D of the large number of solidified soil lumps SS and the packing soil PS. Soil covering layers PSa are built to form slopes covering the solidified soil lumps SS at positions mostly apart from a sloped part 14. After the filter layers F are constructed on the sloped part 14, and new reinforcement soil layers D are stacked in the same manner as described above to complete a reinforcement banking part G.

SOLUTION: A drying bed 10 includes a drain bed 16 and also has a drain port 15 provided to the bottom part thereof. The drain bed 16 is formed of a lower gravel layer 2A and an upper sand layer 2B by successively charging gravel and coarse sand in the drying bed 10. After a nonwoven fabric 20 made of polyester, which prevents the passage of a solid substance and permits the passage of water, is laid on the upper surface of the drain bed 16, concentrated sludge 3 with a high water content is charged on the nonwoven fabric 20. The nonwoven fabric 20 is wider than the upper surface of the drain bed 16 and the edge part of the nonwoven fabric 20 is exposed so as to leave space 21 at the time of charging of the concentrated sludge 3. After the water content of sludge 3 lowers, the sludge 3 is transferred to a concrete floor 18 with a high evaporation capacity using the nonwoven fabric 20 and dried.
