    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for hydroformylation with which the catalyst recycle is improved and a catalyst based on cobalt is used in a nonaqueous ionic liquid. SOLUTION: The process for hydroformylation of an olefinic unsaturated compound in the liquid phase comprises a reaction stage of at least the one olefinic unsaturated compound with hydrogen and carbon monoxide and a decantation stage of the final product. In the reaction stage, the reaction is carried out in the presence of at least one nonaqueous ionic liquid containing at least one salt of general formula Q + A - and in the presence of a catalyst containing at least one cobalt complex with at least one ligand selected from the group consisting of a Lewis base under pressure. An intermediate stage of transferring an effluent from the pressurized hydroformylation reaction into at least one container in which the effluent is pressurized is provided between the reaction stage and the decantation stage.
