    • Embodiments provide apparatus and methods for delivering solid form drug (SFD) to various locations in the body. In one embodiment, the invention provides an apparatus for treatment of arrhythmia comprising a drug delivery member (DDM) coupled to a drug storage device (DSD). The DSD is configured to store and advance SFD (e.g., drug pellets) through the DDM to a target tissue site (TTS) in or on the heart. A drug advancement member may be used to advance the SFD through the DSD. A capture chamber (CC) may be coupled to the DDM. and is configured to be positioned on a heart surface and allow SFD to dissolve to deliver a drug solution to the heart. The DSD can be implanted subcutaneously e.g., in the pectoral area. Embodiments of the apparatus can be used to store and deliver SFD to the heart or other TTS over an extended period of years.

    • Embodiments of the invention provide methods and apparatus for using a controllable heat source to generate electricity. One embodiment provides an energy generation module comprising a controllable heat source, one or more jackets of thermoelectric devices, and heat conducting fluids surrounding or otherwise thermally coupled to the jackets. The energy generation module can be used to convert heat from a heat source such as a gas combustion chamber into electricity. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for generating electricity when electrical power is not existent, cost prohibitive or otherwise in short supply. The generated electricity can be used by the user, stored in an electrical storage battery or sold to a local or remote power grid.

Many embodiments provide an iontophoretic patch for the transdermal delivery hair growth stimulating agents for the treatment of hair loss by stimulating the growth of new hair in areas of the scalp exhibiting hair loss. The patch comprises an electrode and a reservoir containing a composition comprising iron containing compound, such as a chelated iron compound for the delivery of the therapeutically effective amount of iron. The patch can be shaped to be placed and remain on the head. Various embodiments provide methods of using embodiments of the iontophoretic patch for delivering a hair growth stimulating agent such as a chelated iron compound, minoxidil and finasteride to the scalp and other areas exhibiting hair loss. Such methods can be used for re-growing hair, and/or preventing or slowing hair loss.

    • Embodiments of the invention provide patch assemblies for iontophoretic transdermal delivery of therapeutic agents. An embodiment provides a patch assembly comprising a conformable patch for delivery of the agent and having a tissue contacting side including an adhesive. The housing has a bottom surface for engaging a non-tissue contacting side of the patch, a current source such as a battery and a controller for controlling the delivery of the agent. The housing has sufficient flexibility such that when it is engaged with the patch to form the patch assembly and the patch is adhered to a target site on the patient's skin, the assembly has sufficient flexibility to deform with movement of the patient's skin to remain sufficiently adhered to the skin over an extended period of time to transdermally deliver a desired dose of the agent. Embodiments of the assembly may used to deliver a variety of therapeutic agents.
