摘要： One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for motion vector encoding/decoding using a motion vector resolution limitation, and to an image encoding/decoding method and apparatus using same. The embodiment of the present invention provides a motion vector encoding method, comprising: calculating encoding costs for each limitation level of a motion vector resolution which is limited by levels; selecting a limitation level of the motion vector resolution using the encoding costs calculated for each limitation level; and outputting motion vector encoded data obtained by encoding the motion vector determined by the selected limitation level of the motion vector resolution, and resolution limitation index data obtained by encoding a resolution limitation index for indicating the selected limitation level of the motion vector resolution. 摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for encoding/decoding a motion vector by selecting a set of predicted candidate motion vectors, and a method and apparatus for image encoding/decoding using the same. The method for encoding a motion vector according to the present invention comprises: selecting one set of predicted candidate motion vectors among plural sets of predicted candidate motion vectors by using information about motions of neighboring blocks of a current block; selecting one of the predicted candidate motion vectors in the selected set of predicted candidate motion vectors as a predicted motion vector; encoding a differential vector which represents the difference between the current motion vector as a motion vector of the current block and the predicted motion vector being selected; and encoding a predicted motion vector index that represents the predicted motion vector being selected. According to the present invention, as a motion vector is encoded by selecting an efficient set of predicted candidate motion vectors, the magnitude of a differential vector to be encoded can be reduced without necessarily encoding additional information to indicate which set of predicted candidate motion vectors has been selected. In result, the compression efficiency of a motion vector and further the compression efficiency of an image can be improved.

摘要： One embodiment of the present invention relates to a technique for encoding a multi-plane image, which adaptively determines the order of encoding planes in accordance with the characteristics of an inputted image, and encodes the multi-plane image. An apparatus for encoding a multi-plane image comprises: a plane encoding order determining unit which adaptively determines, on the basis of encoding costs, the order of encoding a plurality of color planes inputted by a predetermined unit; and an encoding unit which encodes the plurality of color planes, inputted by the predetermined unit, in accordance with the determined order. The apparatus of the present invention adaptively determines the order of encoding planes in accordance with the characteristics of an inputted image, and encodes the multi-plane image, and therefore provides further improved encoding efficiency as compared to conventional apparatuses which encode images in a fixed order, and provides further improved encoding efficiency, particularly when predictions on the planes are performed.

摘要： The present invention relates to an inter-prediction method and apparatus, and to an image encoding method and apparatus using same. The inter prediction method of the present invention for prediction encoding is characterized by determination of a modified block based on a prediction block of the current block, and comprises the steps of: determining current motion vector by estimating the motion of the current block; generating a reference block directed by the current motion vector; calculating current block adjacent pixels using the reference block adjacent pixels and a motion compensation coefficient or an average compensation coefficient; and generating a modified reference block from said generated reference block based on the motion compensation coefficient or the average compensation coefficient.
