    • For maintaining an annular sealing gasket (122) in some predetermined position between and substantially coaxial with opposed annular sealing beads (36', 56') extending axially from each of a pair of coupling components (10', 12') a plurality of axial retaining legs (124) are formed integrally with the gasket body (122). The retaining legs (124) facilitate mounting to one of the coupling components (10', 12') so that the gasket (122) body is captured substantially coaxial with the one coupling component (10') and with the associated sealing bead (36') engaging one of the gasket faces. The legs (124) are positioned circumferentially about the gasket body (122) for engaging the one coupling component (10') coaxial with the associated sealing bead (36'). The arrangement accommodates precise positioning of the gasket (122) relative to the coupling components (10', 12') at initial coupling makeup and does not interfere with the coupling components (10', 12') themselves. Precise repositioning of the gasket (122) relative to the component sealing beads (36', 56') during subsequent dismantling and reassembly of the coupling is enabled.

    • A tube coupling assembly (10) includes first and second generally cylindrical coupling components (12,14) each terminating in a radially outwardly extending flange (26) surrounding a sealing end face (16). The coupling components (12,14) are positioned in axial alignment and an improved nut assembly is provided for selectively driving the sealing end faces toward one another. The nut assembly comprises a sleeve-like main body (44) positioned in surrounding relationship to the first and second coupling components (12,14). A nut member (34) is threadedly connected with a first end of the main body (44) and engages with the radially outwardly extending flange (26) on the first coupling component (12) on the side opposite its sealing face (16). A split-ring connector (62) comprising cooperating half-ring members (66) is positioned in surrounding relationship to the second end of the main body (44) and releasably connected thereto. The half-ring members (66) include radially inwardly extending flanges (70,72) engaged with the radially outwardly extending flange (26) on the second coupling component (14) on the side opposite its sealing face (16).
