    • PURPOSE: To make a conical part and a neck thinner than a cylindrical middle part by forming a balloon from a polymer material, providing the cylindrical middle part, an inclined conical part located outside at each end of the middle part, and a cylindrical neck located at the end of each conical part, forming the balloon from two or more layers including inner and outer layers, and causing one of the layers to be shortened and terminated within the other conical region. CONSTITUTION: A balloon 16 is formed by a plurality of separate, very thin layers 22, 20, 18 from a polymer material, and a relatively thin conical part segment and a neck segment are formed at opposite ends. The balloon 16 is made up of the plurality of layers 22, 20, 18 including an inner layer, i.e., the inner layer 22 defining the balloon 16 comprising a cylindrical middle part 22M, a conical part 22C located at the end of the middle part 22M, and a neck 22N located at the end of the conical part 22C. Each of the continuing outer layers 20, 18 is edged in the region of the conical part 22C so as to be shorter than the next adjacent inner layers 22, 20. Thus, the balloon 16 is determined to have offset wall thicknesses in the region of the conical part 22C and become almost uniform toward the neck 22N.

    • PURPOSE: To discharge blood completely from a storage container without blocking a blood flowing-out port by arranging a rib part adjacent to a flowing- out port of blood in such a way that a flexible membrane is extended over a flowing-out port of blood. CONSTITUTION: A flowing-out port 24 is arranged on a base part of a funnel part or a fib part 30 wherein blood is taken from a storage container formed of a shell 14 and a membrane part 16. The flowing-out port 24 is arranged under the rib part 30 extending in a lateral direction across a base part of a well 32 and adjacent to the rib part. The flowing-out port 24 is positioned in the close vicinity to an end of a shell 14 and at the lowest part of the well 32 in order to carry out discharging from the storage container maximally and efficiently. As a volume of blood in the storage container decreases, the membrane part 16 starts to return to an inherent natural semi-circular form and winds within an inside of the shell 14 and sticks to an inclined wall 26. The rib part 30 makes the membrane part 16 to extend to the flowing-out port 24. Therefore, the membrane part 16 starts to extend along the part 30 left and right to make a discharge of the storage container possible until a complete discharge is ended.

    • PURPOSE: To enable pharmaceuticals to be correctly infused by providing a display means including a pre-determined configuration information for select modes of pump operations, and detecting the information of the display means when the display means is arranged adjacent to a control means so as to control a pump means. CONSTITUTION: An infusion rate knob 14, a body weight knob 16, a bolus knob 18 and an operation mode select knob 20 as well as a double-break switch 21 used for selecting the shape of a syringe, etc., are arranged on a front panel of a medical pump 10. A magnetic label 30 attachable to such a front panel are prepared. The magnetic label 30 is provided with three openings 34, 36, 38 with printed English alphabets and numbers 32 indicating a pharmaceutical product type and concentration and visual scales 40, 42, 44 for infusion rate, body weight and bolus attached on the peripheries thereof respectively. Sensors 54-59 for detecting the magnets attached to the predetermined locations on the back of the magnetic label 30 when the magnetic label 30 is attached are arranged. A drive means is controlled by the output signal therefrom.
