摘要： The present invention provides for noise reduction during operation of a portable blower by reducing the noise or acoustic energy escaping from the housing outlet and blower tube. The noise reduction is achieved by placing sound absorbing material in the blower tube. The sound absorbing material may include flared upstream and downstream ends to reduce turbulence. The sound absorbing material may be held within the blower tube by an insert frame such that substantial portions of the sound absorbing material are exposed to air passing through the blower tube. Also disclosed is a sound absorbing insert that can be placed within an existing blower tube to retrofit portable blowers with noise reduction technology.

摘要： A muffler for automotive vehicles. The muffler includes a passageway, an inlet at one end of the passageway, and a single outlet or dual outlets at the passageway's other end. The portion of the muffler connected to the inlet is substantially untapered. The portion of the passageway connected to the outlet or outlets tapers from wide to narrow away from the inlet and toward the outlet or outlets. This tapered geometry results in a very appreciable reduction of heat transmitted from the muffler back to the engine, increases engine performance, and produces a pleasant, deep sound while the engine is running.

摘要： The gas exhaust system, intended for an internal combustion engine, has a plurality of connectors leading to an exhaust manifold. The exhaust vent from the exhaust manifold is used as a feed gas for a catalyst. In order to install said catalyst as close as possible to the exhaust manifold, it is suggested by the invention that a mixer be provided inside the catalyst housing. The mixer enables the exhaust gas stream arriving at the catalyst via the feed pipe to be homogenized in time and geometry and prevents catalyst elements from being damaged by a non-homogeneous gas stream. The mixer also allows for the unburnt air-fuel mixture to settle inside instead of burning in catalyst elements, thereby preventing the latter from being damaged by suddenly burning deposits.

An oxygen sensor is disposed at the bend of the exhaust pipe in alignment with the partition and projects into both of the first and second exhaust passages through a periphery of the partition.
