摘要： A telephone line multiplication apparatus for connecting a plurality of telephone subscribers to a telephone exchange over a single two-wire telephone line which may carry voice and/or digital data information and control signal information such as off-hook/on-hook, dialing, ringing, metering and the like, wherein voice and/or digital data information is communicated with a first one of the plurality of telephone subscribers in digital form, and voice information is communicated with a second one of the plurality of telephone subscribers in analog form, characterized in that the control signal information relating to the operation of the second subscriber is communicated in digital form. The interface between the analog and digital communications channels is effected by a line interface providing impedance matching with the line impedance, wherein the analog channel is coupled by a connection with a portion of the two-wire telephone line impedance across a series capacitor which provides a preliminary stage of low-pass filtering. An improved ringing generator is also provided for powering the subscriber loads based on remote power feeding from the telephone exchange.

摘要： A selective ringing circuit for a telephone line includes a rectifier which is normally connected to the telephone line for rectifying the AC ringing and other signals. The rectified ringIng signals will not activate the ringing circuit of the telephone equipment, because a capacitor in the ringing circuit is charged and will not pass current therethrough in response to the DC signal. The selective ringing circuit includes a switch- selective signal-detecting arrangement by which a predetermined one of the ringing signals is detected and is used as an activation signal, while the other ringing signals are rejected. The activation signal activates an electrical connecting device which, when activated, electrically bypasses the rectifier and directly electrically connects the predetermined selected ringing signal to the telephone equipment. An automatic number identification circuit includes a transistor switch connects a predetermined ground resistance to the telephone line. A shunt resistance automatically shunts a tip or ring dropping resistor to compensate for the unbalanced resistive effects of a biasing circuit for the transistor switch. The rectifier supplies consistent polarity DC signals to the telephone equipment.

摘要： The invention relates to a digital loop sharing telephone system and also to a digital telephone for connection into such a system. The loop (L) may be for a parallel telephone system or a party-line system. Each telephone instrument (10) is adapted to transmit data in an upstream direction on the loop that is towards an exchange of the system, which data may originate from the telephone instrument itself or a further telephone instrument downstream thereof. Each telephone instrument includes code detector circuitry (CD1, CD3) and logic circuitry (G2, G3) whereby if the telephone instrument is the first to change to an off-hook or active condition it "seizes" the loop for exclusive data transmission to the exchange. In the case of a parallel telephone system, any telephone instrument going off-hook can receive incoming data from the exchange but only the first telephone instrument to go off-hook can send data. In the case of a party-line system only the telephone which seizes the loop can receive data.

摘要： A telecommunication network having a switching system (1) connected to a called station by a line that provides notification to a called party of information relating to an incoming call. This information generally consists of the called number, but may also include an extension or other code. The called party identification is delivered to the called telephone station set during the silent period after ringing, or, advantageously, before ringing starts. A signal (e.g., FSK) is sent to the called telephone station set shortly before the ringing signal is sent to the called station. A converter (210) at the customer premises receives the FSK signal and demodulates it. A control unit connected to the converter then causes the called DN to be displayed, may cause a distinctive ring to be made, or take other action depending upon its program.
