    • A retaining system for a motor vehicle includes a vehicle body having a door opening with a frame disposed therearound. A door is mounted adjacent the door opening and includes a vertically moveable frameless window. An actuator is coupled to the frame and further coupled to a retainer member. The retainer member is moveable between engaged and disengaged positions relative to the frameless window as powered by the actuator. A controller is configured for determining whether an instantaneous vehicle condition is met or present, and moving the retainer member to the engaged position to retain the frameless window against the frame or vehicle body when the vehicle condition is detected. The vehicle condition may include a predetermined vehicle speed, an aerodynamic pressure reading, a direct aerodynamic pressure or vacuum, a door lock activation, or other like condition for detection by the controller.

    • A sealing profile for a windowpane of a motor vehicle comprises a receiving section, a bottom lip and a supporting section. The receiving section essentially is U-shaped in cross section and has a first leg, a second leg and a base connecting the first leg and the second leg to each other. The supporting section, in the closed position, supports the bottom lip at the base. The bottom lip comprises a first end, which is arranged at the first leg, a second end, which is free, and a curved contact surface, which is arranged between the first and the second end. The contact surface form-fittingly encompasses a front face of the windowpane in the closed position. The bottom lip a cam section, which is adjacent to the contact surface and which prevents the windowpane from moving in a direction perpendicular to a lateral surface of the windowpane.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal device for enhancing a sealing property at the time of high speed traveling without changing a seal structure of a seal part of a door. SOLUTION: The seal device comprises a seal member contact means 10 and a driving force generation means 20. The means 20 is provided with an air pressure receiving plate 23 at a tip end of a rod 22a of a hydraulic cylinder 22 projected from a cylindrical frame 21, receives traveling wind of the vehicle by the receiving plate to generate an oil pressure on a cylinder and transmits it to a hydraulic cylinder 11 of the means 10. The means 10 is provided with the seal member 12 of an approximately curved cross section on the rod 11a projected from the cylinder at the inner side of a frame 8. The seal member 12 is elastically deformed to a flat shape by urging to a direction of the frame 8 by a spring 13 mounted to the rod. While one end 12b is butted to the frame, the other end is retreated to a position close to the frame. When an oil pressure is applied to the cylinder 11, the seal member 12 is returned to an original normal shape by extension of the rod 11a.
