摘要： A typing machine wherein a plurality of coaxial type members are selectively turnable about their common axis to bring selected types to a give typing line. A swingable bail coacts with the type members for returning them all simultaneously to a given starting position, and a drive which is actuated at each typing cycle coacts with the bail for swinging the latter to return the type members to the starting position after the actual typing of each typing cycle has occurred. The impressions of the types are transferred through an inking ribbon which has its feed between a pair of spools automatically reversed in response to tension in the ribbon when unwinding thereof from either one of the spools terminates. The ribbon has a pair of different colors, and it is possible to select one of these colors for the typing on a paper which is itself supported on a rotary platen. A frame which carries the platen is swingable, and a transmission from the drive swings the latter frame to bring the platen to the typing line at each typing cycle.

摘要： The present invention is an improved pawl for use in combination with an inked ribbon advance and reverse mechanism which includes a plate member, a pair of ribbon spools which are disposed on the surface of the plate member and are mechanically coupled thereto so that they can rotate bidirectionally, a pair of ratchet wheels, each having teeth disposed in an opposite direction and each being mechanically coupled to one of the pair of ribbon spools, and a mounting device for mechanically coupling the improved pawl to the plate member. The improved pawl includes an elongated member having a pair of ends, each end having a plurality of teeth which are disposed along the surface of the elongated member that mechanically engages one of the ratchet wheels. The elongated member is pivotally coupled to the mounting device which includes a pivot pin which mechanically couples the elongated member to the mounting device by means of a pair of springs. The mounting device is a sliding member which is mechanically coupled to the pivot pin with the improved pawl being coupled to the plate member through the sliding member and a coupling device for slidably coupling the sliding member to the plate member so that the sliding member can move differentially in parallel juxtaposition to the plate member and the ribbon spools.

摘要： A printer including a printing head adapted for reciprocal displacement across a printing tape for effecting printing on the tape in at least one direction of reciprocation is provided. The printer includes a lever pivoted on a frame and adapted to reciprocate the printing head and a rotating disc engaged with a motor for driving the rotary disc which pivots the lever. The rotating disc is adapted to actuate a paper advance assembly, an ink-ribbon winding assembly and an ink-ribbon reversing assembly. The printing head may be of the type including a plurality of needles for recording dots by electromagnetic actuation of the needles.
