摘要： Systems, methods, and apparatus for handling and/or authorizing payment requests by a consumer for a transaction are provided. Challenge questions may be presented from the non-merchant to the consumer after receiving the payment information, thereby allowing a judicious determination of when to ask such challenge questions and allowing complex and probative questions. The time limit for such challenge questions may advantageously be unconstrained, while still preserving security. Also, a risk analysis may be started prior to the consumer submitting payment information, thus allowing an efficient and complex risk analysis. Information about an access device used by the consumer may be obtained at the non-merchant from the access device with code sent to the access device from the merchant, and the device information may be used in the risk analysis.

The item identifier is used to locate an express warranty for the item. The consumer identifier (e.g.; a number of an account issued to the consumer) is used to locate the consumer's file in which the express warranty is stored along with at least a portion of the information pertaining to the transaction. Other data received in respective messages can be also be stored in the consumer's file. Thereafter, the consumer identifier can be use to retrieve all express warranties stored in the file for past respective purchased items. Information about each express warranty can be compared to the stored portion of the information pertaining to the transaction so as to retrieve only those express warranties that are valid (e.g.; unexpired).

摘要： A parse/build engine that can handle multi-format financial messages. The engine converts the different format messages into a common format, and the common format message is then processed by the business service application. A parser examines the message and determines an appropriate schema for the particular format of message received. The schema is a data structure in a schema registry that includes a grammar structure for the received format as well as pointers to handlers for converting the different fields of the message into the internal message format using the grammar structure (the "grammar" can include field sequence, field type, length, character encoding, optional and required fields, etc.). The handlers are individually compiled. As formats change, new formats or changes to old formats can be dynamically added to the parse/build engine by loading new schema and handlers.

Coupon information may be communicated to the merchant with the payment information, or prior to or subsequent to transmission of the payment information to the merchant.
