    • Triazolothienodiazepine compounds of the formula; ##SPC1##Wherein X is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a methoxy group and a trifluoromethyl group; each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together can form a tetramethylene group, i.e.--(CH.sub.2).sub.4 --; R is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, --CONHR.sup.3 (R.sup.3 being an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms) and -alk-N(R.sup. 4)(R.sup.5) (each of R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 being a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 and N can form a heterocyclic ring; and alk being an alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms); and Z is a member selected from the group consisting of an oxygen atom and a sulphur atom; and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are disclosed. These compounds are useful as minor tranquillizers (anti-anxiety drugs), sleep inducers, and anti-epileptics.

    • The fluorescent lamp lighting apparatus of the present invention includes: a first serial connection including a first switching device and a second switching device which are connected to a power supply circuit; a second serial connection including a first inductor, a first capacitor and a fluorescent lamp which are connected between one terminal of the power supply circuit and an intermediate point of the first and the second switching devices; a third serial connection including a second inductor, a second capacitor and a third inductor which is electromagnetically coupled to the first inductor, the third serial connection supplying a control voltage to a control terminal of the first switching device or a control terminal of the second switching device; and a constant voltage device connected in parallel to the second capacitor. In the fluorescent lamp lighting apparatus, the constant voltage device supplies a positive control voltage and a negative control voltage to the control terminal, the positive control voltage is positive with respect to a cathode terminal corresponding to the control terminal, the negative control voltage is negative with respect to the cathode terminal, and an absolute value of the positive control voltage is larger than an absolute value of the negative control voltage.
