    • According to an aspect of an embodiment, a method of controlling a first information apparatus connectable to a second information apparatus having a display, the second information apparatus being capable of reproducing video image based on video information obtained from a remote source independently from the first information apparatus, the method has storing command code information of the second information apparatus in association with identification information of the second information apparatus, receiving a command indicating a power-on operation of the second information apparatus while the second information apparatus is connected to the first information apparatus, executing a software program upon confirmation of the command indicating the power-on operation of the second information apparatus in reference to the command code information and outputting image data produced by the software program to the second information apparatus so as to display an image corresponding to the image data on the display.

    • An image forming apparatus capable of preventing unnecessary adhesion of a developer to an uncharged region of a latent image carrier. The image forming apparatus includes an endless latent image carrier, a charging unit for charging the latent image carrier, a latent image forming unit for forming a latent image on the latent image carrier charged, a developing unit for developing the latent image formed on the latent image carrier with a developer by supplying the developer to the latent image carrier under application of a developing bias voltage, and a transfer unit for transferring the image developed on the latent image carrier to a sheet. The image forming apparatus further includes a driving member for rotating the latent image carrier and for driving the developing unit to supply the developer to the latent image carrier, and a controller for effecting sequence control such that the application of the developing bias voltage to the developing unit is started a predetermined time after the rotation of the latent image carrier and the drive of the developing unit and also the charging operation of the charging unit have been started.     • A counter counts clock signals. When a count thereof coincides with the number of rows or columns in a memory cell array, a row or column count coincidence signal is generated and applied to a shift input of a row or column address pointer formed of shift registers. The row or column address pointer is responsive to the clock signals to sequentially shift the count coincidence signal applied to the shift input, so that row or column selecting lines in the memory cell array are sequentially set in the selected state. Since the outputs at final stages in the row and column address pointers are not fed back to the inputs at the first stage thereof, signal delay in a feed back path is not caused, and thus operations for selecting rows and columns are performed at high speed. Also, respective shift register stages in the row and column address pointers have the same construction, and thus regularity thereof is maintained.
