    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of preventing deformation and breaking of a member having a projecting part for operations, such as a slide member, and members thereabout. SOLUTION: Male and female housings 22, 21 in a normal fitting state are separated from each other by applying a finger to a pushing operation part 53 provided to project from the top surface of a slid member 50, and depressing it rearwards against the biasing force of a coil spring 51; next, a displacing operation part 36 provided at the rear end of a locking piece 31 is lifted to disengage a locking pawl 35 from an engaging part 55A to pull the female housing 21 from the made housing 22 to thereby separate both housings 21, 22 from each other. The pushing operation pat 53 of the slide member 50 and the displacing operation part 36 of the locking piece 31 do not project from the outer surfaces of both housings 21, 22, so the slide member 50, the locking piece 31 and portions thereabout can be prevented from being deformed or damaged by external forces.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with which the locking force of a retainer is increased and sensing of half insertion can be made accurately. SOLUTION: A retainer 30 is furnished with a locking column 32 which is capable of intruding to behind the secondary locking part 26 of a terminal 20 taking a regular position, and a pair of projections 33 protruding further from the forefront of the column are formed. The two projections 33 are arranged with a spacing which allows the contacting part 21 of the terminal 20 to be interposed therebetween. If the retainer 30 is intruded to the regular locking position upon inserting the terminal 20, the column 32 intrudes to behind the secondary locking part 26, while the projections 33 pinch the contacting part 21 therebetween. The engaging margin is enlarged in an amount corresponding to the provision of the projections 33, and the locking force is increased. In case the terminal 20 is in the half-inserted condition, the projections 33 at the forefront of the column 32 hit against the side face of a cover 22 to restrict the intrusion of the retainer 30, and the levitating margin of the retainer 30 is enlarged in an amount corresponding to the provision of the projections 33, and it is possible to simply and accurately execute the sensing of half- insertion.

    • PURPOSE: To provide rubber ring holding structure in which a rubber ring is easily and surely inserted securely without increasing the number of parts. CONSTITUTION: A firing plate 21 abutting on the inner wall 8 of the fitting groove 7 of a female housing 1 is formed in a rubber ring 20, and a locked rod 22 is projected in the rear surface. A through-hole 26 through which the locked rod 22 can be made to pass with clearance is opened in the inner wall 8. A cut groove 23 is formed in the tip surface of the locked rod 22, and in the female housing 1, a lock member 28 in which a wedge part 30 having more obtuse angle than the cut groove 23 is integratedly formed so as to be able to return through a self-hinge part 29. When the rubber ring 20 is installed in a regular position, the tip of the locked rod 22 passes through the through- hole 26 to project on the rear side. When the wedge part 30 is pushed in the cut groove 23 by returning the lock member 28, the tip is elastically spread out and locked in the opening edge of the outside of the through-hole 26 securely.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain the same continuous electrical connection as that obtained when an electric wire is continuously laid by connecting the cut pieces to each other with a connecting terminal in an electrical connection box even when the electric wire is cut into pieces at prescribed points. CONSTITUTION: In case an electric wire W to be laid in an electrical connection box is so hard that the wire W cannot be bent when it is required to bend the wire W at a right angle, the wire W is cut into three pieces along cutting lines L at both ends of the bent section C and the cut ends of the pieces are connected to a connecting terminal 10. The terminal 10 is made of a conductive metallic plate and is provided with a connecting section 11 composed of an L-shaped flat plate section bent at right angles in the horizontal direction and slots 12 and 13 protruded downward from both edges of the connecting section 11. The slots 12 and 13 are provided with cutting edges 12a and 13a which come into contact with the core 15 of the wire W after cutting the insulating coating 14 of the wire W. Therefore, such a problem that an electric wire is not able to be bent at a desired angle can be eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of defective crimping on manufactured lateral linkage type metals by forming angular holes at the positions of round holes when the round holes required during the manufacturing process become unnecessary. CONSTITUTION:A belt-like raw material plate 20 is pressed in the vertical direction, and irregularities are formed for preventing a slip and a deformation. Round holes 22 for positioning are bored on a terminal carrier section 21 so that a pilot pin sharpened at the tip can be inserted regardless of directivity. The raw material plate 20 is punched into prescribed shapes and folded to form terminal metals 23. Angular holes 24 are bored at the positions where the round holes 22 are formed on the terminal carrier section 21. Even if a feed claw 31 is retreated by a stroke sufficiently larger than the pitch between terminals 10 in the lateral linkage type terminal metals thus manufactured, the claw 31 is stopped on the terminal carrier section 21 before it reaches the first angular hole 24c. A desired feed action can be given to the terminal metals 23.

    • PURPOSE:To easily perform connector separating work while preventing falling- off of a lock hood. CONSTITUTION:In a connector where a lock hood 5 is rotatably installed on a housing 4 of a male connector and female and male housings 3 and 4 are displaced in the joining direction by rotation of this lock hood 5, a slide member 21 is slidably arranged on an upper surface of the lock hood 5. A spring member 14 is constructed between the slide member 21 and the lock hood 5, and the lock hood 5 is energized in the direction for pressing against the male housing 4 side. When mutual connectors are separated from each other, the slide member 21 is advanced, and engagement with the member 14 is released. Thereby, energizing force of the spring member 14 is nullified, and since the lock hood 5 can be raised up without being influenced by spring force of the spring member 14, it can be easily rotated in an erect condition, and can simply separate both connectors from each other.
