CONSTITUTION:A fin roll 15 is made by arranging a magnetic fin 16 by dispersing it among non-magnetic fins 17. In the case of the thickness of a belt 3a, 3b being in =1.3mm in three pieces. With such constitution the belt is stabilized and the quality is improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the titled device which holds the space between the cooling surfaces of belts always at a specified value and improves the surface quality of a billet by the constitution consisting in cooling the meniscus part where the static pressure of a molten metal is low by a jet type and the casting area where the static pressure of the molten metal is high by a hermetic system, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A belt type continuous casting machine pours a molten metal 10 from a tundish 9 into the space between a pair of steel belts 5, 5' turning synchronously in opposite directions, cools the molten metal to solidify the surface of said belts 5, 5' and draws out a billet 7 which is a thin metallic plate. Jet type belt coolers 40 consisting of plural finned roll pairs 17 and many jet pipe pairs 13 for cooling water are provided on the rear of the belts 5, 5' near the meniscus 24 of the molten metal 10 in such casting machine and the cooling water pressure is regulated to cool the molten metal 10. Hermetic type belt coolers 48 consisting of providing channels for passing of cooling water and coolind pads 41, 41' having slits 36, 37 for supplied and discharging of the cooling water communicating with said channels on the rear of the belts 5, 5' in contact therewith are further provided in a casting area 25 to suppress bulging of the belts 5, 5' to the counter casting surface side.

The method enables production of a composite material exhibiting a sharp boundary between the two types of metals used and enabling the thickness of the respective metal layers to be easily controlled by adjusting the location of application of the static magnetic field or the withdrawal speed of the strand of cast metal.
