    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a steel from being cut away during rolling by butting the rear end of an advance steel and the force end of a following steel, heating a joining part and the neighborhood to the temperature lower than an MnS melting temperature and heat-joining the joining part. SOLUTION: When a joining part is cooled, a molten S is not precipitated as MnS, it exists in the molten state, it thickens on the grain boundary face of a steel structure and the quality of material is made brittle. When the ratio of the highest temperature at the joining time and the MnS melting temperature is made higher than 1, the contraction value of area is made lower than 45%, it is made lower than the contraction value of area for requiring rolling and the danger of being cut away is caused. Accordingly, in order to roll in the stable state without causing breaking of the joining part, the ratio of the highest temperature and the MnS melting temperature is required lower than 1. That is, that the highest temperature of the joining part and the neighborhood (a part within 10mm from the joining part) is made lower than the MnS melting temperature is the necessary condition. The reduction in strength caused by the S brittleness is prevented, and the stable and continuous hot finish rolling is executed.
