    • An image processing device includes an estimator, a first calculator, a selector, a determination module, and a third calculator. The estimator estimates a motion vector to reference images of an input video from a target pixel of a process target image. The first calculator calculates candidate pixel values corresponding to positions in the reference images. The selector selects a motion vector for which the error is small as many as the number smaller than the number of motion vectors acquired for the target pixel. The determination module determines the candidate pixel values corresponding to the selected motion vectors. The third calculator calculates a pixel value after correction of the target pixel from an arithmetic average or a weighted sum of the candidate pixel value determined equal to or less than the reference and the pixel value of the target pixel.

    • In a structure in which a printing medium is subjected to a maintenance ejection in order to maintain a favorable ink ejection performance of a printing head, dots formed on the printing medium by the maintenance ejection have a reduced visibility. Specifically, an area of dots formed by landing ink droplets ejected from the printing head for the maintenance ejection onto the printing medium is smaller than an area of similar dots formed by a normal printing. Specifically, by flowing currents having different waveforms into an ejection heater of the printing head depending on the ejection for printing an image and the maintenance ejection, an area of dots formed by the maintenance ejection can be smaller than an area of dots formed by the normal ejection for printing an image.

    • In one embodiment, an image data acquisition unit, a filter setting unit and a filtering processor are provided. The image data acquisition unit acquires pixel data of first image data of an erect image obtained by a line sensor comprising a plurality of light receiving elements. The erect image is formed by a plurality of gradient index lenses of a lens array. The filter setting unit sets sharpening filter coefficients of a filter to be applied to the pixel data of the first image data corresponding to the respective light receiving elements, according to remainder values obtained respectively by dividing positions of the light receiving elements on the line sensor by an interval of a lens arrangement of the lens array. The filtering processor generates second image data sharpened by applying the obtained sharpening filter coefficients to the respective pixel data of the first image data.

    • In an ink jet printing apparatus carrying out printing using a plurality of ejecting portions for respectively ejecting different kinds of inks, a condition for wiping of an ejection face provided with ink ejection openings of the plurality of ejecting portions is appropriately determined and defective ejection due to a wet and dirty ejection face is effectively prevented. A timing of wiping is controlled considering kinds of inks. Specifically, the timing of wiping is determined not simply based on a number of ejections carried out by the plurality of ejecting portions to perform printing, but also a condition of an amount of mist generated in accordance with the kinds of ink.

    • An ink container capable of being simply mounted in a holder with a small working space includes a rib-like guide portion for determining a mounting path during mounting of the ink container in a head cartridge at a side surface. The head cartridge includes a holder portion provided with a sliding projection which slides in contact with the guide portion. When the ink container is mounted, a user moves the ink container so that a first inclined portion first contacts the sliding projection and thereafter the ink contained is moved in an obliquely below direction toward the head cartridge while sliding the sliding projection along the first inclined portion.
