    • An electrophotographic image forming apparatus for printing a photographic image and a photographic image printing method by using the same are provided. The electrophotographic image forming apparatus for printing a photographic image includes a photosensitive medium having a surface on which a color-image electrostatic latent image and a transparent-image electrostatic latent image are formed by exposure. At least one color developing unit contains a color glossy toner charged with a polarity and develops a color image on the surface of the photosensitive medium by applying the color glossy toner on the color-image electrostatic latent image. A transparent developing unit contains a transparent glossy toner charged with a polarity different from the polarity of the color glossy toner and develops a transparent image on the surface of the photosensitive medium by applying the transparent glossy toner on an external region of the transparent-image electrostatic latent image. The color image and the transparent image are sequentially transferred without overlapping onto an intermediate transfer medium.

    • A color image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor medium, an exposing unit, a plurality of developer units, and a power supply. The exposing unit scans light onto the photoreceptor drum to form a latent electrostatic image. The plurality of developer units include developer rollers supplying toner to the latent electrostatic image to develop the latent electrostatic image into a toner image. Each developer unit contains toner of a different color, and the developer units are arranged around the photoreceptor medium so that the developer rollers are separated by a development gap from the photoreceptor medium. The power supply selectively applies a first bias allowing toner to be supplied through the development gap to the photoreceptor medium on which the latent electrostatic image is formed and a second bias preventing toner from passing through the development gap.

    • A method and apparatus for measuring the biological condition of an animal by acquiring and analyzing its biological signals are provided. The biological signals from skin temperature, a photoplenthysmogram (PPG), an electrocardiogram (ECG), electrodermal activity (EDA), an electromyogram (EMG), and an electrogastrogram (EGG) are detected using a biological signal detection unit which is attached to the animal's skin. Feature vectors, including the mean heart rate of the photoplenthysmogram and its standard deviation, the very low frequency, low frequency, and high frequency components of heart rate variability, the frequency and mean amplitude of skin conductance responses, and the mean and maximum skin temperatures, are extracted from the detected biological signals. The biological condition, including needs and emotions, of the animal as to whether or not the animal feels hunger or fear, how much the animal is stressed, or whether or not the animal needs to have a bowel movement, is determined using a pattern classifier which has learned reference vectors, which reflect the behaviors, needs, and emotions of different kinds of animals for various biological conditions and are stored in a predetermined database. Therefore, the biological condition of the animal can be determined through instrumental communication, not through human languages, and the breeding of pets can be efficiently managed.
