    • This invention relates to an offshore system comprising a rig having a deck (2) and further comprising a cantilever (4), which is mounted on the deck and which is at least moveable in a longitudinal direction of the cantilever between a retracted position and an extended position. Said cantilever has an operational end (4a) which extends beyond the deck in an extended position of the cantilever, and an inner end (4b) opposite the operational end. Furthermore said cantilever has one or more cantilever support rails (10) in the longitudinal direction of the cantilever. The system further comprises support means (7) comprising rail engagement members (7a) which allow longitudinal movement of the cantilever. The system further comprises a support rail extension part (6b') for each cantilever support rail, that allows to extend the cantilever support rail at the inner end of the cantilever by being positioned in line with the cantilever support rail, for the purpose of increasing the length of the cantilever support rail and thereby the longitudinal reach of the cantilever.

    • A hoisting crane has a substantially hollow vertical column with a foot which is or can be fixed to a support, and with a top. Furthermore, the hoisting crane has a jib with an associated annular bearing structure which extends around the vertical column and guides and carries a jib connection member, so that the jib connection member can rotate about the column, the jib connection member forming a substantially horizontal pivot axis so that the jib can be pivoted up and down. Furthermore, the hoisting crane has a winch and an associated hoisting cable for hoisting a load. At the top of the vertical column there is a top cable guide, and furthermore there is a hoisting cable guide on the jib of the hoisting crane. The winch is disposed in or in the vicinity of the foot of the vertical column, so that the hoisting cable extends from the winch through the hollow vertical column to the top cable guide and then to the hoisting cable guide on the jib. The top cable guide comprises a rotary bearing structure, so that the top cable guide can follow rotary movements of the jib about the vertical column and adopt substantially the same angular position as the jib. The winch is arranged on a movable winch support, which is mounted movably with respect to the vertical column, the winch support having an associated drive motor assembly for moving the winch support, in such a manner than the winch support maintains a fixed orientation with respect to the top cable guide in the event of rotary movements of the jib about the vertical column.

    • A mobile crane (1), preferably a self-propelled mobile crane, has a travelling base structure (2) which allows for travel of said crane over a surface. The crane further has a revolving superstructure (3) mounted on said base structure and a boom (4) and a backmast (5). The boom (4) and backmast (5) are each being hinged about an associated horizontal pivot axis to said superstructure (3). The crane further has a main load hoisting means (11, 13a) associated with said boom (4) for hoisting a load and a superstructure ballast (15), said superstructure (3) being adapted for supporting said superstructure ballast (15) thereon. The crane also has a superlift ballast (20, 20a, 20b) and associated connection means (30) serving to connect said superlift ballast (20, 20a, 20b) to said backmast (5) while said superlift ballast (20, 20a, 20b) is resting on said surface and/or suspended from said backmast above said surface. The travelling base structure is provided with superlift ballast support means (50, 55) which allow for supporting said superlift ballast (20, 20a, 20b) on said base structure (2) so that said superlift ballast (20, 20a, 20b) is movable along with the mobile crane while being supported by said base structure (2).

    • The present invention relates to a crane for use on an offshore vessel. According to the invention, the crane is provided with a boom restrainer, wherein the boom restrainer is a hydro-pneumatic boom restrainer (108), for reducing upward pivoting of the boom (105), when the boom is in the top zone, wherein the boom restrainer (108) comprises: multiple hydraulic cylinders (127), each having a hydraulic circuit and a cylinder rod (119) with a cylinder head (128), wherein the cylinders (127) are mounted on the crane structure (104) with the cylinder heads (120) directed towards the boom (105) of the crane (101), preferably are mounted on a stay (105) of the crane structure (104), a catcher (121) for each hydraulic cylinder (127), wherein each catcher is mounted on the boom (105) and is configured for receiving the cylinder head (120) of the corresponding hydraulic cylinder (127), and to lock the cylinder head, preferably pivotable locks the cylinder head, relative to the boom, when the boom pivots upwards in the top zone; a gas buffer (128) for each hydraulic cylinder (127), wherein each gas buffer (128) is mounted to the corresponding hydraulic cylinder (127), and is connected to the hydraulic circuit of the corresponding hydraulic cylinder via a medium separator, wherein the gas buffer (128) forces the hydraulic cylinder in an extended position, and wherein the volume ratio between the hydraulic cylinder (127) and the gas buffer (128) is such that the hydraulic cylinder (127) acts as a progressive spring, e.g. the gas buffers each hasve a size in the range of 1000-1400 litre, for example 1200 litre and the hydraulic cylinders (127) each have a size in the range of 800-1000 litre, for example 900 litre, and preferably the ratio between the volume of the gas buffer and the volume of the associated hydraulic cylinder is 4:3.
